I believe his email is hacked and want to let him know. Thanks in advance

^^^^^ I am aware of that info, thanks I was passing on that ticks can and will mount humans. He said they look like ticks but didn't provide the color. still could be. I edited my post to clarify.

they are pretty common on the hogs that we catch. They only live on the hogs, they may get on you but they wont live on you. They will crawl off of you. We don't do anything about them since they only live on the hogs. We've never had the bother the dogs either. I think that they are worse this time of the year. Oh, and they are not ticks, some sort of hog lice.
That is inaccurate information with respect to ticks. Ticks can, will, and do live on Humans when they come in contact. They are not particular of the host they choose to suck blood out of. May want to read up on Lime disease. Hog lice dont. Edit******** hog lice are also yellowish in color. Ticks are dark. what do the ones you have look like

Tip- Call around and get some state base that didnt make the grade. Cheaper per ton that way.
X2, It packs nice and tight and a lot easier to walk through then rocks and wont heat up like rocks.

I dont think dogs wearing vests have as much mobility as this pup has while seeing his first pig ever , but we run a vest on him. They have helped prevent major injuries for just under two decades now. I really appreciate it. Our dogs dont find many hogs but they tend to grab a hold of the ones they do,

I will Play, My dad had a half plot half catahoula dog that he traded for a husqvarna chain saw. It is by far the best dog I have ver seen. He was the the real deal, do it by his self Nutt dog but my dad is from California, the dog died from a brain aneurysm. Scott, AKA Real Dogs, has some bag ass dogs, and I would love to have his dog Scar, he is the real deal. His Catch dog Cager is the BOMB. Des, AKA Mr.HG. also has a full stack, Lou Lou is all about hogs, Dott is jamm up too. Paris, well she has my heart ( the list goes on and on) Big Worm and I hunted with Mr.HG and Real Dogs, we caught twelve in one day. Boy of those guys got it going on. If you guys ain't met Jason you are missing out. He has one of the best mustaches I have ever seen and gives one heck of hug. Mr. Joe. is a very VERY nice man. and he has some great dogs too. Radar, I am at a loss for words. heck Mr. Joe even let me ride his horse. But he wouldn't let me give him a hug (must be the Marine in him) LOl. Bigworm has a dog name Tiger that is the real deal. She was solid, do it by her self dog, except she always took a hog head on. she is 14-15 now and is my dads guard dog at the family farm. only thing she bays now is strangers and the Mail Man. OK Ups Truck too.

I've always heard good things about the razorback vest.? Anyone use them?
Thats all we use. every dog gets one put on it when out. http://www.razorbackhoghuntingsupply.com/productpricing.html this is a different company than the link posted above. if you look in their photo gallery in the field testing the pictures of the hogs and dogs are ones I sent them from last year or early this year cant remember for sure. any way we have been using these vest on our dogs since the early to mid 90s most of the vests are still the original ones we purchased, in 2008 we bought a couple more. they last a long time.

That is awful, and unfortunately I have felt your pain. I had a dog, that I truly enjoyed, fell in love with (if you can call it that) from first site, that I got from Mr. Doug Mason. His name was Ice and he was turning out to be a pretty dang good dog. He ended up stolen from me, and the thieves arrested, rather than returning the dog, somebody (couldnt prove who) beat him on the head and left him for dead on the side of a county road several days after.
I took him to the vet but he couldnt be saved, the suspects were convicted and restitution paid, to include vet costs, but it still didn't fill the void from the loss of the dog. I sure hope Fire is doing good where ever he is.
Good luck and hope you get it resolved better than I did.

I dont know much about nothing, and I never met the man, but after reading his posts over the past couple years and what others have posted about the man it seems to me that Silverton Boar Dogs is a pretty good candidate for being called a Dog Man.
