HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Lost dogs
|

My dogs have been missing since Tuesday night, April 3rd. Hunting around FM 521 and 457 in Matagorda County. Two cur dogs, a yellow and a brindle dog. Both dogs have distinctive cut scars and would be easy to identify. Both wearing garmine collars. If anyone around the Brazoria, Matagorda county area runs across them or hears anything please let me know, really like to get them back. Clayton Brewer (979)236-3426 or call the number on the collars.

The best truck I ever owned didn't cost much more than 25,000. I would like to see a dog like that in person. Maybe you get a diamond studded collar and a free year supply of feed with the dog. Dang international dogs are high dollar!

Hey not our best performance by any means but we sure enjoyed it. Thanks for showing us around. Maybe we can hook up again and hunt some of yours with ours. Mason sent me a text of a good one you got the other night. International style. By the way this is Clayton.

mike p. your always stirring stuff up! That's funny, I don't care who you are. I wasn't gonna comment on this thread but I couldn't stand it. If c. miller hasn't gotten his bread buttered enough already I will say this...it doesn't matter whether Craig's at a roping, penning cows, or picking up at a rodeo, chances are he's riding the best one there. In fact I ride a horse with a Bar M on his hip.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: missing fishermen

The boys were found alive! Last night around 7pm roughly. 180nm off Port Aransas. They are dehydrated and worn out but in good shape. They were taken by boat to Corpus for medical check. Boat they were in was capsized and they were found by a passing fishing boat. I have been in touch with Kenny through all of this and finally his boy is coming home. Thank the Lord for this miracle!!!! You didn;t really think Curt Hall would miss dove season did you?!

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / early spring fleas
|
on: February 07, 2009, 08:08:48 pm
|
Looks like spring is gonna come early this year. Was wondering how everyone else handles flea problems. It was so dry last year I had a real problem with them. I tried a lot of different things and was about 90%. I want to get a good handle on them before they get bad. Would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Hip Dysplasia

Thanks for the info from everyone. I think I will try getting her x-rayed, as she comes from good stock on the top side and i've had some luck with dogs from her momma's side also. She's worth trying something. I think flatbroke asked about her breed type, she is a quarter leopard and 3/4 black mouth cur.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Hip Dysplasia
|

Has anyone out there had a dog with hip dysplasia? I have a 7 month old female I just started running a little. The other night the dogs covered a bunch of country and she stayed with them. The next day she did a lot of laying around. I thought she was just tired. For the last five days I have noticed an unusual movement in her hind end. She just kind of bunny hops around like her back legs are tied together. Also as soon as she stops she either sits or lays down. She won't stretch out and run or jump around like she always does. Also, a brother to this dogs momma I heard had the same symptoms at one time. There is some pretty good literature on this subject, just wanted to see if any of ya'll have had or heard about this condition.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Catch Dog RE-GRIP......your thoughts.......

I have a catch that's fairly new to me. I haven't had him on many, most have been in contolled situations. Anyway on two small hogs he's caught he let go and re-positioned his mouth, but on two bigger hogs he stuck and never moved. Hopefully he knows the difference, and does not let go of the bigger ones or he'll get the boot for sure.

pico=Name of an old rope horse I rode for years growing up. A roping producer around here didn't know my name for years, but he knew my horse's name so it stuck.

That looks like prime hog country, just wonderin if it is public land or some ranch that gives you permission. Either way nice hunt! Looked like a blast!
