|
on: April 08, 2013, 07:38:32 am
|
I have an older dog trailer that has a metal frame and wood sides. The wood on top needs to be replaced. It would probably make a good hog trailer for the woods, just needs a little work. Text me and I can send pictures.... I'll take $100 or trade for hunting related items.... Located in New Boston, TX (903)278-8477 colby_t_brown@yahoo.com

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Awesome Weekend- Gator Country Hunt
|
on: February 26, 2013, 03:25:58 pm

I'm PRO-Barr and I don't hunt tournaments so that shoots that theory right outta the water If anyone says they don't like catching a Barr hog, then they've never caught one. Hogs are livestock, they oughta be worked like livestock when it's feasible. Not everyone will agree with that statement, and it kills me to see pictures of a bunch of dead hogs that go to waste, but I don't say anything. The only thing these rolling pine hills is good for is raising cattle and hogs, and I guess the occasional white-tail. Agreed...

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: improving range on a dog
|
on: November 19, 2012, 01:30:07 pm

Best way to ensure range in a pup, is to get the pup from a family of dogs who have range.
I've yet to see anyone train range into a dog. I've started an awful lot of pups, and I can tell you on the third fourth trip to the woods what my pups will become and be right 95% of the time. The independant ones are born with it.
I agree 100 percent!!

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: riding horses hog hunting

How do yall keep the CD's from going to the bay from to far off? We want ours to stay with us until we send them. They will want to go to a bay as soon as they hear it, but they usually wait until we send them. If they act like they want to go before we are close enough we just call them back..... We try to keep a shock collar on them, until they are handling pretty well. Then of course, we have to remind them every once in awhile.

We hunt just like Craig... Make the bulldog follow the horse, until we ride into a bay, carry the little ones and drag the bigger ones. Keeping new bulldogs from wanting to catch a horse is always fun!! 3 yr old Dry Doc grandson... 4 yr old Two Eyed Jack gelding I'm just now getting broke....
