It worked ok for one of my dogs but even the guy that sold it to me said it probably had an 80% fail rate.

Nice hog and glad to hear your catch dog is getting better.

I got tired of having breaksticks shoved in my pockets or clipped to my belt loops or back in the pickup or hanging in a stupid cedar tree fifty yards away from where I need it so my buddy and I got together with a local saddle maker and had him make us some sheaths.  Knife on one side breakstick on the other.  They've been great so far and he did a really nice job on them. 

I went to some automatic waterers and some black goat troughs with floats.  It works really well.  If they get dirty a couple swipes with a sponge gets them cleaned out again and the dogs always have fresh water.

I can't get premethrin to work at all.  I dipped every dog on the place and two days later they had fleas again.

I've tried to give away hog meat to homeless shelters, missions, the pregnancy center in town here that takes in pregnant teens and women and none of them will take a single bite of it.  So once my freezers fill up, and the freezers of my friends that are willing to pitch in and help process a hog are filled up some hogs start getting left in the woods. That, and the ones that I catch a half mile away from where you can get with a vehicle.  I haven't had a landowner complain about a dead hog yet.  If I could I'd barr some and turn them loose, but I'd sure lose a hunting spot if I got caught at it.   

Round Rock isn't very far from me either. Probably about forty minutes.

This one is Bluetick/Heeler.  He's been a good solid dog for me. 

I had no idea there was a second part of "Where the Red Fern Grows" but we do own "Ol Yeller" and "Savage Sam".

Just took a pup in to the vet this morning for what looks like the same thing.  Like somebody else said it was a staph infection.  Got her an antibiotic shot and she should be good to go.
