Damn Clint, I am really sorry for your loss. I have hunted so much with that dog that she was considered part of our pack. Her and Dusty were a jam up team! My heart goes out to Big T, but if there is one kid that I know is tough enough to handle it, it is him.

We run into this situation every year when the sows group up after having their piglets. We run lots of catch dogs, normally 4-5. We would cut 2-3 catch dogs into the sounder, and quickly follow them in. Any hogs that come back to rally we would send the other catch dogs on. Not all the curs but some of them would stay with the sounder as it moved on. Gather up the catch dogs and head to the curs that are back on the sounder and repeat it all over again.
I think our best string of hogs out of one sounder was 8 or 9. We were wore ou after all that action.

Alright so what's the story on the wounded warrior?! We would all like to hear it. Hope everyone is doing better today and healing up
Old Aaron blew out an ankle on his way to the bay. Swelled up like a softball. His dog Beast is also on the mend, it appaers that Beast tried to catch this hog by himself when they originally struck it. Not a good day for the Weaver crew. Both are still alive and kicking...so good news.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 2/5 Barr Hog

We met up wit the crew this morning to make a run in the swamp. The dogs did pretty well, except for a few deer mishaps. Clints dogs ended up baying up a big barr hog. Upon further inspection, the barr had our mark on its left ear. We had cut probably 2 dozen boars on this property a year ago, this is the first we have re-caught. Had to scoot after catching this one, had a soldier down.

Rock river arms lower with a Noveske upper...pretty lethal combination.
Cull Buck on here is an AR guru. You should hit him up.

I couldnt tell you which is the best. One thing I can tell you, is that the people who make a habit of talking about how great their dogs are, steer clear of. The people who know they have good dogs dont have to advertise, their actions speak for themselves. Some of the guys that have given you some advise on here I would consider to have great dogs, listen to their advise and you will be in good shape. Best of luck to you.

Very easy fix...put her on a diet of raw chicken. One chicken half in the morning and another in the evening. You will see considerable changes in a few weeks.

We managed to pry Clint away from work and made a quick run on Saturday morning. Aaron BMC, Hector, Josh and Brian joined us. We dropped the loose dogs first and managed 4 hogs, one of which was a little bo hog that had a bad little attitude. Dropped Aaron's piranha pack next and caught another 3 in the switch cain. This was Brian's first hog hunt and the dogs put on a good showing for him. See you boys next weekend. Dogs with the bottom to stick with one till it bays... doesn't matter what breed it is.
Paul, them hairy dogs may work great in that wide open country... but I don't think they'd fare to well in an East Texas pine thicket.
X2 There is no substitute for a dog with endless bottom...although that is a double edged sword.
