Like i said previously, i tried leaving him but that doesnt work.... he will just sit there....and he doesnt yip either... he may run up and down the creek a few yards but thats about it....

Also, besides crossing the creek, he hunts too good to leave him on a chain.... i would give him to Jet308 before i feed a dog to just sit at the house..

Man if there was a bay on the other side of that creek im sure that sucker would cross to get to it 

Like I said some dogs will want nothing to do with water, I have a couple but they had a bad experience and they sure did not forget it either lol if its something that bugs you im sure theres someone who wont mind his water issues.

I would like the chance one day to try a great dane/pit  or  great dane/dogo, but im not sure about a pure great dane though, I would have to see one catch in person.

I might be interested, and I would not mind making a cross with one of my females to Duke either, he is a good looking dog and built the way we like. Do you still have Cody? Dont remember if you said you did, but that would be a closer cross to Sadies line I would think. I believe you when you say Duke would be a good house dog, Sadie was an exceptional dog around the house and in the woods. God I loved everything about that dog!!!!

I do still have Cody, but with gas as high as it is, I would recommend breeding to one of his sons that is for sure producing pups, at his age, it's a crap shoot. I do want to get some more pups out of him real bad, but I would hate to waste your time and money if we didn't get any.

I think its worth a try. Hell, I would kill to be able to have Hank or Sadie around again, Sadie produced some good dogs and I would like to keep her blood and Hanks blood alive. My dad adored Sadie, so did my whole family, and I would love to see those dogs related to her someday. I may just have to make the trip one of these days.

Most our dogs love water until something happens to them in the water that they get scared. I have a couple of dogs that have almost drowned and are hesitant to get in the water but over time get over it and cross or they find somewhere else they feel comfortable to cross. The most recent incident with one of my dogs was our dog Cody got pushed in freezing cold water by a hog, it was a part of the creek where it was two walls on both sides so no way of getting out of there, he was in there for quite a while, by the time I saw him he was tired and almost about to drown. We got him out but for he rest of the weekend he would not touch water!!! They either cross or get left behind in our group! Like I said most of the time they cross but there are some dogs that just dont want to have anything to do with water.

I would leave him behind if your comfortable doing so. Give him time he will figure out that he will have to get in the water or get left behind.

Easter is coming up and I am left with the task of finding a domestic pig to roast for easter sunday. I know we could roast a wild hog but we have family coming that probably wouldnt eat it because of the fact. So, Im looking for a domestic hog around 80 pounds but no smaller than that.     I liked it with the original 2-300 members, however, with that said, I have made some of what I consider great friends, people I would have never met, if it wasn't for ETHD bringing us together.   

Same here! Honestly, dont know what I would do without ETHD, I can live without Facebook BUT I CANT LIVE WITHOUT ETHD!!!! I dont think I can count how many times I have fallen out of my seat laughing at the stuff I read on here!!!

On the other hand, I have learned a lot from this place, I also would not have some of the dogs I have no if it werent for ETHD. To me they are pretty damn good dogs to!  And came from some really good people to!

I think people get offended too easy, come on its a forum and we all are here because we all love doing the same thing.

I sorta miss the old ETHD where all everyone did was poke fun at each other.

There is a few doggers on here that do know what they are doing,I've been luck enough to work with one that will help anyone and everyone,And will be the 1st to tell you he does'nt know it all but will do everything he can to help you figure out the problem.
I've hunted hogs for 14 yrs now and I still learn something everytime I hit the woods.

The friend that has helped me the most always tells me "When you quit learning and you think you have everything figured out you are as good as done"
I believe you can learn a little from everyone If you keep you ears open and mouth shut.
Take bits and pieces from respectable hunters and develope your own style.

And I agree there are several guys on here that would like to know 1/2 of the BS they blabber.
If you check their post history Its the same few that are experts about everything thats posted.

I read what I want to read and just skip what I dont.
Besides there is plenty to learn from people on here. Some have been doing this longer than you and I have been alive.
