1  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Weird Dog on: October 16, 2010, 06:04:35 pm
Very common! You first need to figure out why he is peeing in the bowl. How long of a chain is he on? Dog usually do not want to pee or deficate where they eat or sleep unless it has become a habit from a young age due to being confined in to small of a space with it's littermates and mother. The easiest solution is to pick up the bowl after he is done with it and he will stop his ritual. He could also be just claiming his bowl and to solve this you need to show him it is your bowl!  laugh You can figure out how you want to go about this! Good luck!
2  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: ? hood hunt or ground hunt on: October 16, 2010, 04:33:18 pm
M Bennet- If your dogs are winding hogs from your hood at that distance, Don't stop! I would keep it in your arsenal and just try your dogs on a ground hunt every now and again. If you're bringing home the bacon  and are just trying to tighten up the squad that is my advice and .3 cents! Good luck! I'm currently using very non traditional hogdog techniques to train my dogs right now and I know a few of the old timers are chuckling like little girls behind my back but I can tell you my dog can wind a hog ALOT further then they're dog ever will and differentiate between a boar and sow at that distance! Use what works for you, Let the rest talk!

4  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Cleaning Water Bowls? on: October 15, 2010, 06:12:27 pm
I grow the algae on the bowls on purpose and add vingar to a fresh bowl to clean off the algae and grow new. No scrubbing involved!

I've made a few! I posted a couple up in another thread, If you don't mind the ties I use to hold it together I will explain how I put them together. I've used the same ties since I put hem together and ahven't had a faliure yet but I also have a few extras in my pack just in case! Like mentioned though, If you aren't making them for the satisfaction involved you could just buy one already made for about the cost of material. Looks like BoarNinja may have gone out to do some ninjain, I will see if I can find the post for ya!

I was awaiting someone to tell me he had 4 legs, a nose and like to sniff a$$! That would have proven ownership right there! 1 guy even got pushy with me for the ladies number before even giving me a description! My phone accidently cut him off!  laugh

Hey Boarninja! I believe the owner of the microchip is the itchy finger bandit and may have been caught with his peter out on this one. Hopefully! I will take down my post on the Hawaii board right after I post this Boarmom! Like I mentioned in my PM to you Boarmom I believe we did as great a job as we could have. Thank you again! I am still getting PM's claiming it is their dog and a few asked me what their dogs looked like! People are...................................... AMAZING!  laugh

15  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Found a dog near Haleiwa, Hawaii on: October 12, 2010, 10:31:08 pm
Hey Boarmom! I'm not exactly sure what's happening but I was just told the lady is changing her mind about returning the dog? I gave the owner the information as to how I heard about the dog and so he may be givng you a call tommorow to chat. I was hoping the return would go great but I guess she may be second guessing her feelings or something. Thank you again!

Just wanted to let you know Boarmom the lost owners have been put in touch with the lady! Thank you very much for passing on the word! Sad part of the story..... WBUSA collar was not the collar the dog was lost with but put on the dog by itchy fingers that lost the dog after found! A picture of the dog was sent to the lady to confirm ownership from what I was told, Thank you once again Wild Boar USA!

20  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: How big of a dent can I make? on: October 09, 2010, 02:48:04 pm
After responding to the thread about this months "pig eradication program" I was outside thinking about exactly how many pigs are in Texas? According to different sources I have found the estimated population to be between 1 -2 Million hogs! I then went ahead and googled the size of Texas, Which is 268,820 Square miles according to Wikipedia and the usable land mass according to citydata.com is 262,017! If you break it down to how many pigs are in each square mile of Texas, I came up with 1,000,000,000 pigs Divided by 268,820 square miles of land = 3720 pigs in every square mile! I think it is time for an attempt to get numbers down a few thousand!

BigainaBuilt,

If I had a big company I wouldn't hire you in the accounting department. Shocked Huh?  But, I would hire you in research and development. Smiley

Thank you very much for the offer Reuben! I would be willing to accept a salary position, Due to the fact if I lived in Texas I believe work would interfere with my attempt to chase all 3720 pigs I have hypothesized to be available!  laugh

Dub- I believe the population could be closer to 2 Million, You may want to look into reloading! If you want I would be willing to measure out the loads for ya! Also must be a salary position only though!  Grin
