Michael,
I sure hated to get that call. I knew you weren't calling to say good morning. I greatly appreciate you letting me hunt dman for the past two years after Stolie died. I have a lot of good memories of him. He was truely a one dog show. He'll be greatly missed! I hope to get his sister bred so we can try to get a few more similar to them.

Well this year we didn't have the best deer season ever but my dad did manage to kill a good buck. I think the best part was getting to sit in the stand with my two little ones. They didn't last long in the box blind but that didn't matter. It was a good time and I look forward to next year! Here is my dad's buck. His biggest buck to date. It weighed 240 lbs on the hoof and field dressed right at 200 lbs. Biggest deer weight wise we've ever killed on the ranch. My son Hunter learning how to shoot his BB gun.....which was actually my BB gun growing up. This is our neighbor. She shot this buck on our fence line. She shot one a few years ago that scored 172 and some change. She's one lucky lady!!! Enjoy! Kevin O'Neal

The cur dog in this picture was what I call a "one dog" show. She found, stopped and bayed more hogs for me than I can count. 95% of the time she was all alone. Best dog I've ever owned. She was rough on a smaller hog but knew when to step back and bay. Forgot the picture....

Don't have these dogs anymore, they had 1/8th bulldog in them somewhere down the line. Didn't suite my needs as far as the way they ranged out but they caught hogs and wouldn't let many run very far. This is what happened if they got on one they couldn't handle without a catch dog.....they got rolled. Same hog about 5 seconds after they tried to catch him. Nice boar! What island are you on? I got the oppertunity to hunt on Kauai with a gentleman by the name of Tim. I think he goes by "Kauai boy" on here. We didn't catch one but that's not what it was about to me. I just enjoyed the company and seeing your style of hunting.
Again, Nice Catch!!

Great videos Danny! That first black hog looked pretty big when he broke and ran. Hard to tell when Matt isn't sitting behind him though. Sure wish we hunted more durning the daylight hours. Hope to make it out there one day! KO

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: catch dog with croped ears..

Had a dogo that got cronic ear infections. His ears were cropped but that wasn't what caused the infections. He couldn't hear worth a darn until I got the infection cleared up. After a week or so he'd be good to go until he caught a hog....then the ear infection would come back. Took him to the vet and had blood work done and the damn dog was allergic to PORK. LOL! Paid a pretty penny for him, shipped him in from Argentina as a pup. He was a cull to me. Whats the use in a hog dog that's allergic to prok. IMO the dog is either deaf in one ear or has some sort of blockage. The ears shouldn't make a difference.

Put my name down 22 times please. I have 2 kids and a wife that wanted to put in. My cousin, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, buddy, co worker and all their family members wanted to play as well. I'll be sure to give it to them when I win. Thanks and have a great day! KO

Thanks for the comments.
I knew how I would have answered the question but I always like to get other opinions as well.
The two older guys that we were hunting with have probably been coon hunting longer than I've been alive. They hound hunt, like to hear the race and typically turn out two or three hounds and some curs. They haven't been hog hunting long and I think they believe in order to stop a "big bad hog" they need dog power! Lots of it! I can't say I'm a seasoned pro but I've been at it for about 10 years now. As we were sitting there chatting they told me about a boar they ran for 8 or 9 miles the other night and never got him bayed. I said, "you had to many dogs after him." I knew better than to turn Ann into that bay but did anyway because I felt if it was 120lb hog they would catch it and be done. Guess it was a little bigger? At that point I was intent on leading the bulldog in. I guess the old fellas just liked that Jagd cross and wanted to see her in action. LOL! They wanted me to turn her loose. I told them she'd break the bay and then turned her out. And that was my final mistake. LOL!
Can't catch em all! Still a good time!
Thanks for the replies.
