THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Trade Coon Dog for Catch Dog - Pending Pick Up
on: September 21, 2014, 04:58:37 pm
I've got a 9 yr old Registered Bluetick female that I would like to trade for the right male catch dog or $250 cash firm. She would still be a good puppy trainer or brood female for another litter or two. She was just in heat at the beginning of the month. I got her in a trade and don't need her. I have pictures of her and a video of her working a coon on the ground. Her papers are pretty impressive as well!! She is missing her right eye from fighting a coon but it does not bother her. Please look up where Falls City, Tx is before you start calling or texting me. It is about an hour South of San Antonio, Tx. I might meet within an hour for the right catch dog. I will not take a catch dog unless he is jam up and you can prove it. I don't have time for junk dogs or tire kickers. Let's make a deal. Phone/Text: 830-583-5275. Email: Benny_b01@hotmail.com

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / FINISHED BLUETICK COONHOUND - SOLD!!
on: August 30, 2014, 02:04:13 pm
9 yr old finished bluetick coonhound for sale or trade. Bought her in a package deal from a guy in Louisiana. She is registered and I have the papers in hand. I have never changed them over into my name but you are more than welcome to have them. Supposedly she has won Grand Night Champions in the past and is a spot on coon dog. I have hunted her twice in the year that I have had her and she treed up and stayed treed until we got there. I would just much rather chase hogs than coons and she has no interest in hogs whatsoever. She is silent until she is hot on a coon. I think she would make someone an awesome puppy trainer. Willing to trade for the right hog dog or will take cash as well. Let me know what you got. Benny_b01@hotmail.com or 830-583-5275

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Catahoula Female
on: August 06, 2012, 12:17:24 am
I have a yellow and white female Catahoula that is a little over a year old. When I bought her the people gave me the papers to register her but I never did. Supposedly she is out of Mr Masons male dog named Chili. I have been working in the oilfield and don't have time to work this dog. She has the looks and she minds pretty well too. She knows a few simple commands like KENNEL and SIT (sits before I feed her). I am getting rid of her because I really and truly do not have the time to train this dog. I have hunted her a few times. Have never had her trash and she has stayed with my older dogs pretty good. She has been on two hogs in the woods and was pretty loose bayin. My email is benny_b01@hotmail.com and my phone number is 830-583-5275. Call or text for pictures and more info. Asking $200 for her.

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 1/4 Pit 1/4 Cat 1/2 Walker---HELP DOG
on: November 07, 2011, 01:44:55 pm
I have a help dog for sale that is just over a year old. He is short range but will work his own track. We usually walk or road hunt him. He stays fairly close to you or the truck until he hits a hot track or the other dogs start barking. He will go to the bay and help catch with the catch dogs. I am asking $150 for him. He is broke off of most everything. He hasnt trashed in awhile now. I still run him with a shock collar though just because of his age. Will not chase cows or deer though at all. Pretty stout built dog. He is a red leapord with a white chest and one cracked brown/white eye. Call or text me at 830-583-5275 or email me at benny_b01@hotmail.com

I would like to see pics and pics of the parents and a little about how they hunt. Located in Falls City, TX. About an hour south of San Antonio on HWY 181. Brindle or Leopord is a plus.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Dog vomiting after eating
on: April 04, 2011, 10:26:56 pm
Took him to the vet. Temperature was good. Eyes were clear and bright. Gums looked good. The vet took blood to run tests on to see if he could see anything out of normal. He is supposed to call back if he finds anything. If nothing comes back in the blood work, he wants to run x-rays. He said it could be a number of things but he is concerned about him as well. I have cut him way back on feed and he seems to be doing a little better. I am going to try to just slowly increase it back to his normal diet and see what happens. Of coarse he will be going back to the vet to get looked at either way. He is my main strike dog that I raised from a pup and there is no way I would let anything happen to him.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Dog vomiting after eating
on: April 01, 2011, 09:24:14 pm

Has anyone ever had this problem before? This is a dog that would eat anything. Lately he has lost his appetite and will not eat just plain Diamond Hi Pro. I have tried to dress with everything under the sun. Left overs, gravy, canned dog food ect. If I did not keep changing it up he would just smell it an walk away. He is usually a dog that will eat his food in less than 2 minutes. I have finally got him to start eating pretty consistantly by dressing his feed with deer and hog trimming. I have noticed the last couple of days that he has started to seem like he is getting tired of this as well. I am out of ideas. What do I do? Some people have told me that he probably ate too fast. What are yalls opinions? I believed this at first but now his diet consist of almost half meat scraps and every once in a while he still throws it up or just refuses to eat.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: split litters

Correct. You can have multiple sires to a litter but each pup can only be sired by one male and the female. No mixing of sires.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: split litters

This is still not the case. Just a little repro lesson, not to be mean or to make anyone mad. Only one ovary ovulates at a time and in litter bearing species (hog, dog, ect) the ovary has many more follicles which release eggs than in a one or two offspring animal. This process of multiple follicles releasing eggs is mimiced when a high producing cow is flushed. In the process, hormones are given to superovulate the cow that would maybe normally only drop a couple eggs now forms many follicles and drops maybe in the vicinity of 20. These eggs are fertilized and then flushed out seven days later. This same process of split flushes can be done, but in the end is more trouble because the embryos or calves out of this kind of flush would then have to be DNA tested to make sure which mating it truely is. Doesnt hurt to learn a little every now an then now does it.
