Well it aint hit us yet so we might dodge it,,,   I told my wife about what you said,, LOL... We aint never heard of nuthin like that and dont want no part of it..

Last month , me and my son were hunting along the Red River and put the dogs thru a pop cane patch where they jumped ....  It wasnt a surprise on where the hog ran since we had hunted there before and they tend to do the same thing.    They swim a big ditch about 400 yards from this spot and get on the other side of it nearly every time unless the dogs stop them before.   
Well this time they dont stop them til there about .6 from us on the other side of the ditch and they are showing bayed on the river bank.  I wish I could show the picture of where this boar hog was set up and it would prove to some folks that a hog AINT a dumb animal..
This boar hog knew where this log was off the bank of the Red River where he had to go down a 30ft bank and position himself where he had the log on his back side , which was the river on the other side of this log ,, but the water was only 3 ft deep in the wedge where he could stand a face the dogs up the bank of the river..   Ive got a video of it when I first hit the bank of the river up 30 ft and I thought to myself  HOW in the world did that hog know to get right there,,, He aint feeding down there so how did he know it even existed for him to get there...  Make a feller think twice to hog hunt if the hog had a gun,, we wouldnt make it..  LOL..

    I appreciate what you guys do for the veterans, congrats on a good hunt for a good cause. I can absolutely testify to the fact that even though sitting in the boat and looking at the terrain it looks like a cake walk, the marsh can be extremely difficult. When you step through the upper crust it literally grabs hold of you and sometimes you might not be able to get out alone. You do get better at where to and not to step. It was a totally different terrain than I'd ever hunted in, I'm more of a hills and hollers guy haha. I wouldn't be able to ride my mule there, she'd wind up gator bait.  Glad it went well for everyone.   

Yessir,,,  That area aint nuthin like a pine thicket we use too..LOL...   I wish I could show the pics of me and my son waist deep in the ditches ,, you step in the wrong spot and you cant find bottom.... My son had to literally lay on his belly and me drag him out with dog leads ....   I can tell you after hunting down there for two days straight  ,,,  me and the dogs didnt have no problem sleeping at night...hehehe

Tapatalk wont let me post pics from this past weekends hunt so it takes the fun out of what this hunt really was..  We were invited to Join Cajun, his crew and some Veterans on this trip across some of the toughest country a feller could bay a hog in..   If anyone thinks that hunting out of a boat down there is nuthin to it,, well it will probably prove you wrong like it did me.  That ground down there aint ground ,,,its floating mud that makes a feller sink to his knees every other step ..  How them dogs of Cajuns run for hours in that is really a testament of what is bred in those dogs.
It was truly a honor to meet and hunt with guys that deserved more than I could give em to pay em back for the dedication that they have shown to our country.  Freedom aint Free
I wish that I could share the pics that we were able to take of them taking their first hogs by way of dogs,, some said they had never experienced such a rush.  One feller had it easy and we was able to drive the boat rite to the hog and dog   LOL.. put the live hog rite up in the boat with him .. 
We had took one guy out with us on a bay and had to cross a ditch that was naturally between us and the hog,, that poor feller tried to jump it and it sunk up to his waist like quick sand,, LOL..  Me and my son had to use our dog leads to pull him out...
Me and my son are honored to be able to hunt with Cajun and his crew,,,, they are dog men the way its suppose to be.  We were also honored to be a part of that weekend hunt with these veterans,,, and hope to set up more of them in the future. 

We still around man,,, been playing with puppies and trapping and cutting all the boar hogs since the weather aint too enjoyable ....  We will be back full swing come first of January if the Lord says the same....  Im like you when it comes to the Facebook lifesyle...  it aint for me ...lol....

Sorry for yalls loss man,,  sounds like a heck of a feller.  The good ones always go too soon,, and that goes for people too..  We will keep yall in our prayers ..

Thats sounded like a hunt was suppose to be,,, Good folks getting together for  a good time...  Good dog work too....   Ive seen a lot of fellers on this dog site for the past 10 or 15 yrs but I could tell T Dog and his crew are good people and know what a good Hog Dog is suppose to be... 

Look like he had plenty to give up on the back end,,,   Heck of a run for dogs in this heat..  that is to say the least,,,   I might have had to say a few choice words after the second miss but some of em know where to get to make it almost impossible to give the cd a sporting chance to do his job...

I think the better way to describe him man would be the caliber of hogs and his accuracy.   The last hunt he made was the first hog he had ever caught and when my son legged it he just let it get away.  Looking back now I guess it was something goin on with him and of course it was internally that he can’t tell us.   So he was catching at about 14 months along with his brother.    I told my son when they were growing up that it was like daylight and dark in the difference between them two.  He was a thinker and his brother was a brawler.  He wanted to catch the hog and his brother wanted to fight the hog.  But numbers wise. I would prob put him at about 300 or so.

Ole Trump had to be laid down last week.  Way too soon in my book but then again the good ones don’t last long enuff anyway.   We will always remember the good days and how he gave it his all for the sport we love.

My son told me about your trip ,,,   I got several buddies up there in Wisconsin,, they aint never in a bad mood ..  I told em its cause they dont have sweat glands  LOL........   Fine trip and good dog work to succeed in that level..  Hope that male dog heals up again for you ,, hes got a little too much determination  LOL..

Central la.. around Alexandria area,,, We hunt from south la to North la and all in between...Woods varies from big timber to thickets you cant cuss a cat thru......

Yeah,, you cant beat that man,,, That little feller got it figured out.. lol.... Glad the dogs gonna heal up for yall... them good ones like that last one will make your feed bill light if they aint careful.... 

We aint shooting them yet,,, But I told my son the other day ,, Im bout ready to cripple every hog we catch from now on,,  Maybe they wont run like scalded apes from then on.. LOL...

Yep,, fine boar hog for sure,, Glad it all worked out and the little fellers enjoyed the trip...

Maverick, yes we actually took my Gus and a male that T had and walked a trail through some woods until the 2 catchdogs acted piggy and we sent them and they went in and caught a little boarhog.

The idea of the lung capacity is what got me interested yrs ago in the DOGO,,,    Hunting them for almost 20 yrs   I did notice that they didnt get winded to the degree I have seen others have especially in the dead of summer..  We use to hunt some property that was terrible in palmettos ,, the hogs would run bad but the area was sectioned off in small blocks so we used the Dogo's sometimes with them being the only ones on the ground..  They reminded me of cur dogs that I use to hunt as a kid ,, when they would wind and circle you while they hunted..   If  I  wouldnt have been able to stay up with them I wouldnt have done it but since I knew I could get to em pretty quick it was a fun way to hunt when I was younger..  LOL.. I dont want to leave the seat of the bike if the dogs aint bayed now.. HEHEHE..

LOL....  them fellers done forgot more about hog doggin than I ever knew man....

T Dog...  Ole Trump got his man hood taken from him back 3 yrs ago due to brucellosis the vet said it was the only way to save him so I bit the bullet and it took away what I thought should have been my sons ticket to top notch Catch dogs in the yrs to come..  We have bred his brother twice but he hasnt produced no where near what I have seen in the last 20 yrs of that blood...  Dont know if the failure is coming from the dam side cause another feller has her..  With two litters failing I dont think Im gonna try that cross again so Im not sure we aint in the same boat when it comes to having to accept mediocre in the future it seems like...  But good things do pop out of nowhere so hopefully my son can hit the jackpot in another line of what I call THINKERS ..  These days you can find alot of so called CD's that are just staring into space like their aint nuthin up there ..  All they want to do is tackle the hog instead of catch it .. LOL..

Meet ole trump.  U know we all have em come to us in our hog hunting career.  Or what we Atleast think is our top notch dog.  I know as for me and my son Ole Trump has done passed what we had expected of him.   I had got into this line of dogs over 20 yrs ago.  This litter we kept 2 brothers.  Ole trump and diesel.   There mom and daddy died when they were about 3 yrs old so they taught themselves a lot.  Ole trump had all the best parts of what a cd could be in my book.   He’s 71/2 now along with his brother.  I hope he’s got 4 more good yrs in him like the two legged trump lol.     
Gonna be hard to replace him with the same caliber.
