I've been giving dex for years. Works wonders on swelling. What I have learned is give orally bout half a cc in the mouth. A vet told me this.

10 mo Black and tan gyp. She is ymbc with 1/4 plott. Parents were both yella, She has bayed in the pen but its been bit since messed with her last. First is a yellow male 1/4 plot around a year old. Will bay a hog been in the woods a few times caught a few. Hes out of my sally dog and my cracker male. Second dog is a black and tan gyp 8 months old. She will bay a hog in a pen. Out of male dog of mine and a gyp from jj. from wortham. Heres my theory on running hogs. A hogs goin to run when a hog wants to run no matter if you have ruff dogs or loose dogs. Seen it, tried it both ways. Can they b caught yes they can but its usually because the hog runs out of gas, not likely but can happen or they get their self in a bind like deep creeks, bad azz fence, thick brush and so on. This is just some of my thinkings on them.

Ive caught lots of hogs at that lake.. Its nothing but hell hole to hunt though. Cant use wheelers on the core land around. The game wardens are getting bad around it.. There some switch grass on one side of the lake where hogs lay up in all the time. I wouldnt suggest getting on that property and thats where the hogs like to run to.
