4  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Off topic auto question regarding 1996 GMC 1500 on: May 12, 2019, 09:12:39 pm
My 12’ cummins had a similar issue. I had refueled it from the 4 jerry cans i brought with me to oregon. It acted up, i took a sample out of my filter and it had a lil water. I put a water dispersant agent to mix the water with fuel. On my way hm, i got south of salt lake and fueled up bc i couldnt accelerate to highway speed and i had a 1/4 tank left. I spent 2hrs draining water out of my filter housing and cracking the inlet line to the pump. After getting hm, i dropped the tank and was able to separate 2 gal of water from the diesel. My pump also had a heavy slime build up 1/4 the way up the filter screen and the bottom was solid sludge.

In park or neutral, i could build rpms, but once i got to around 1/4 a tank, it said F you. My 16 and 18, i put a drain cock on it in case that ever happens again. I eventually traced it to the lack of a good seal on the jerry cans, displacing fuel for water. In oregon, it rains a LOT, so that was the only thing i could think of that caused that much water in the fuel.

My sistership crew will, or should be going to helena, which their home base for fire season. The crew cheif is a mnt man who used to run hounds in idaho. I will ask him to source out some info and get back with you. Their report date is 1 may, unless fire season kicks off sooner, or something breaks out and they get re-routed to that fire. A couple yrs ago, we were in butte, mt, just south of helena, working a fire in the nf between both cities. It looked liked good country.

Are you a disable military vet? If so, in idaho, a person can get an out of state hunting/fishing license and tags for resident cost. Just food for thought. There is plenty of cat to run in both western mt, and all over the mnts of central-north id. Deer and elk are plentiful too. I will be driving to north id, looking for land in kooskia, orofina, lewiston, then head north to priest lake, naples and bonners ferry. Hopefully find something up there.

Dont have to be mnts around just to have a dog with mnt in its breed name. Last i checked, this north america, yet there are a butt load of dogos here. What is your point about no mnts in fl?

I have garmin 320 NIB, never have batteries installed, and 2 dc-30 collars with auto chargers only. collar are NOT new, or refurbs, just used, but operational. $300

2012 yamaha grizzly 700 4x4 with 582 IPT mud tire (60-70% lugs remaining), 2500 or 3500 lbs warn winch with stainless aircraft rescue hoist cable on the drum, has custom built front and read racks, rear has a fold down divider to separate catch or rig dog from rider. is was camo in color, but evidently yamaha didn't use a good enough UV protective coating, so its now a faded camo color. needs a new seat. also has a 2" receiver hitch WELDED to the frame. don't know the hours, but not extremely high, but not low either, i would guess to say, 500-700, but i may be off by 100 + or -. have clean title in hand $3000 or best offer. if you want something for nothing, visit the local welfare office, do not contact me.

NO trades, except metal working machinery of equal value i.e. mag base drill, mill/lathe combo, good size variable speed drill press.

2 yr old REM 700 LR heavy barrel LA, chambered in 300 win mag. has had about 2 boxes of shells fired through it. has a cabelas brand scope 6-24x50mm 30mm tube https://www.cabelas.com/product/hunting/optics/riflescopes/pc/104791680/c/104752080/sc/104535180/cabelas-tactical-ffp-riflescopes/2339073.uts?slotId=3
with a 20 MOA base, and a Nightforce X-treme duty REM 700 LA 1 pc. 40 MOA base and X-treme duty ultra lite 30mm rings.
$1000 for everything. WAS zeroed last time i shot it, just under 2yrs ago, been sitting in a corner of the house since then. Bought the rifle from the Gander Mnt store in killeen, tx. think i still have the purchase paperwork.

I am currently in colorado, but could be moving to commiefornia if weather breaks enough to get out by next weeks end of season contract, working till 19 Oct, in which i will be home that afternoon, NOT 1 day sooner. I can text/email pics upon request. I am 1 HOUR BEHIND central time, so 8am tx time, is 7am my time, PLEASE be aware of the time difference.

contact is 936-366-3204 or artillery97_03@yahoo.com

AGAIN, if you want something for nothing, I am NOT the welfare office, if my prices are beyond your bank act, move out and draw fire, don't bother beating around the bush.
If you have a REASONABLE offer, present it, we can only find a happy point.
If me being blunt offends you, then you defiantly do NOT need to contact me. I don't have time for tire kicking hagglers looking for a handout.

The bottom 1 foot made from stainless material. I think 304 stainless is better corrosion resistant properties thanother stainless.

That type was recommended to me for lining my conex so i can use it as a lumber kiln which resists against tanic acid emitted from the wood as it dries.
9  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Hydraulics? on: September 12, 2018, 03:24:27 am
Who on here knows their stuff on hydraulics? Doing a build and want to power as much via hydraulics as possible. Have a 100 hp @ 2200 rpm, cummins 3.9 bt for power plant. 4, maybe 5 motors needed, 1 needs to be high tq, low spd (nmt 800 rpm) or high speed, turned down for plenty of tq. Tq values will NOT be constent and everything iv been reading for the past 2 wks, says of the 3 required values in hydro operations, design off tq value first and work backwards to pump. With tq unknow and mostly ever changing, how/where would 1 start to get a close estimate on tq values?
10  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / items needed for saw mill on: August 13, 2018, 02:09:49 pm
looking for a 4 cylinder carbonated gas engine or 3 or 4 cylinder diesel, out of a forklift, skid steer or small trackhoe, or some similar piece of equipment. i would prefer a diesel, but gas will work. either engine, gas or diesel must produce between 60 and 150 horses. needs to have the wiring/plumbing for a tachometer so i can set it at X rpm to run a hydraulic pump, which will power the the rest of the mill, including the band drive wheel via direct hook up to the drive wheel.
im also looking for a used floor stand drill press or mag base drill. i will be drilling close to 300 holes, ranging between 5/126" to 1", hopefully using an annular hougen style bit if possible. i would prefer a mag base, since some of the holes will need to be drilled upside down, or horizontally, or even in tight quarters, where a drill press can't get to.

pm me, or email me at charles.mann1@icloud.com please include price and pics if you are offering something up, either for barter or sale.
my phone is 936-366-3024, but i would rather start conversation via email since i never know which schedule (days or nights) i will work within my 12 days on shift. plus as of now, i will be colorado, but may move to an active fire location, which could be anywhere, including commifornia.
thanks ethd group.

So, after showing up, dropping support crew and baggage off, they go out and do a 2.4hr cycle and its done. Was hopping to get a couple days on the fire, but our 2600 gallon water monster put a whoopin on the flames.
14  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Fire near durango, co on: May 26, 2018, 12:36:12 am
Finally a start to the season. We get marching orders to go to pueblo yesterday, launch the heli and bout half way, they get told to RTB. At 5:30pm, get told to get packed for durango and by 7pm, a fire starts between rifle and grand junction and was told to inpack, gonna work that fire. 10pm, get a call to pack back up, going to durango at day break. 3x of humping a 380lb snorkel in and out of the acft is enough. Hopefully we launch for good. 2wks in rifle is enough and its time to start making money and putting the fires out.
If any of yaw have family in this area, i hope they are OK, gonna try and keep their property/structures from going up in flames.

16  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Clearing/blown down trees on: March 16, 2018, 02:27:05 pm
Im looking for some cedar and more so, hard woods that have been blown over from storms or need to be taken down. Anyone have in sources/locations for the wood? I need the trees no smaller than 12” but they can be up to 60”+. Depending their location on the property, i may need to skid them with my tractor so i can hook onto them at a later date (possibly the next day or up to 2wks, depending location and my work schedule) with my log arch and suck them onto my trailer. The area also needs to have clearence to get a 35’ gooseneck and 4dr long box tck in and out of.
Iv got some home and equipment projects that the wood will be used for, not for fire/smoking wood.

Try this page, it has common usage deffinitions. But as with various location in the US that speak english, termanology of phrases/words can varry a little or a LOT and so can hunting, phrases/words varry with location and type of game being hunted and the means of hunting the game.
18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Winch line and logging chokers on: February 09, 2018, 12:32:18 pm
Should be a pile of places in the Houston area that builds rigging, not sure if you can find it but trying looking up building a Po boy choker on YouTube, I can’t really explain it in words but you can braid the cable back into itself pretty easy making a choker yourself, it’s done a good bit in pile driving and industrial construction

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I used to braid nylon and cotton rope, but steel cable is a much different animal. Id rather pay someone to crimp the ferrel. The former loggers i work with told me horror stories of trying to braid 1/2”, through 1” cable when the chokers would break on a turn or during evening shut down inspection, find a damaged choker. They finally just sent the chokers back to our logging dept and either scrapped them or sent them out to get repaired.
19  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Winch line and logging chokers on: February 08, 2018, 02:07:28 pm
Looking for a place that can build me a cable logging choker, mostly being able crimp ferrels to make an eye on 1 end. I can get the bail and end ferrels and finish it up, just need the eye made on 5-6 cables and i can cut to fit the rest. Im located in central tx, near waco, but traveling to the houston and lufkin/nac area in the next few weeks. Any of yaw in those areas know of a company that can build the chockers?

Turn loose 5-6 american dogs with rabies in their building and see how they like that.
