The Sherrif has been called several times.  The first time they told my neighbor because he didn't have fences around his hay pasture that there wasn't anything that could be done.  He said Texas was a "Free Range" state.  First I've heard of that.  Same neighbor called Sherrif again last night and they actually filled out a formal complaint this time.  So....the law is probably involved now.  I called the owner and gave her the number above and she said she would call.  We'll see.  Hope they get caught before someone gets hurt.  I worried someone is going to hit one at high speed.  I know they are around and have had a few near misses myself.  Most are unsuspecting and they like to hang out on the shoulder of the road where it makes a curve.  It's a dangerous situation for sure.   We've all tried to catch them but they are wild as all get out.  I had them in a small hay field next door but they jumped the fence like it wasn't even there.  They throw up their tails and run like deer if you even try to approach them.  Gonna be a rodeo for sure. Hope I'm around if they come out to catch them.  It ought to be fun to watch.

I passed on your Dad's name and number.  Her name is Deann Von Hoffman and she said she would give him a call.

Thanks again,

rayb , with all due respect ... people that know what they're doing require money , people that are looking for adventure wind up costing the owner ALOT MORE .

Understood.  If there is someone local they can talk money with the owners.  I'm just trying to get them together with someone.

I suspect there are some nearby.  Hoping to get lucky on here.  They aren't mine so I haven't been willing to find any help but I'm worried someone is going to get hurt.  A man hit one of their heifers about a month ago out on the highway.  Luckily he just about got stopped and only did minor damage to his truck.  The calf was ok the next day.

I've suggested several times that they go start knocking on some ranch doors around here for help but they think they can do it themselves, on foot.     It's been about 3 months now.

I don't know if they would be willing to pay or not.  I haven't asked them if they want me to find them help.  Just thought I might find some boys around here that know what they're doing looking for an adventure.

Got a neighbor that has 5 cows out.  They say they are "bucking stock".  They've been out for a few months now and keep crossing the highway near my house.  Someone's gonna get hurt.  Neighbors are trying to "lead" them back to their pasture with feed but that ain't working.  These cows are wild and will not let anyone approach.  They need someone with horses and dogs that know what they're doing.  Cows are staying on 400 - 500 acres but will jump fences when pressed.

We are located between Venus and Maypearl.  I can put you in touch with the neighbor if anyone wants to give it a try.

Thanks,
Ray
