We use Prolate, it's a concentrate dip. Farm stores/Atwoods/Feedstores carry it. It's normally used for mites on swine. Works amazing, though if they're scabbed it will burn. Follow the dilution on the bottle and one bottle will last ya all summer. We use it on bedding and kennels as well. If they're already thinning their hair that NuStock will regrow it and controls mites great as well!

Our schedule is:
7/1 @ 6 wk
5/1 @ 8 wk
5/1 @ 12 wk
then we booster ALL our dogs annualy with 5/1, rabies (after they're a year old), and worm monthly

On the zimectrin gold we do one click per dog over 50 lbs. Works great

We use the Zimectrin Gold as well, and alternate that with Ivomec every other month. Our vet here says it's probably the best worm regimen he would suggest (i'm sure all vets will tell you something different). It's amazing what a tape worm or alot of rounds will pull from a dog.

We're using those bottle fly traps from Atwoods...working great. When they get full my hubby dumps the flies and makes up a lil' homemade concoction of the nastiest, stinkiest things he can round up-still workin, and saves a little $$

Tried and true method: I'm the resident dog feeder around our place. There's a tub of pig lard you can get at wal mart-it's in a white tub with green writing, it's in the mexican food section. It's 100% pure lard so obviously use it sparingly. I'd take the dog food (we feed diamond) mix it with warm water to soften it, then stir in that lard...man oh man! I actually get in trouble for keeping the ol' mans dogs too fat

1/2 of a benadryl. one a day for a week or so. same thing applies to humans

I've also heard (never experienced) that if a momma dog is getting mastitis or running a fever it can constipate the pups. You might wanna check her milk and make sure it's not odd colored or smelling funny, that may keep you from having a sick momma dog as well. Best of luck...

We had a bout of parvo on our place here recently...our vet said there is also a virus going around here in oklahoma that mimicks parvo in almost every way-the only way to differentiate of course is by lab testing. He said to save $$, syringe feed em' gatorade, you can give them pepto for the diarrhea/vomiting, i'm pretty sure the dose is 3cc/5lb. Make sure you bleach all your kennels-if it is parvo alot of people tell ya you've got it for at least 7 years on your place...
Another thing on those vaccines that I've just recently learned: it's more of a problem if you have summer pups that you have to give vaccinations to, but if the 5/1 or 7/1 gets above a certain temp at any point before you get it into the dog, it kills the vaccine and you might as well have given them water! And to make matters even worse-most feed stores/distributors don't keep up with the temps in their fridge (although i'm pretty sure they're supposed to).
