We ended up getting 3rd I say there were some nice hogs brought in congrats to all the teams that makes a 2 nd place 2 first places and a 3rd I am happy with that.. we hunted hard and some good competition thats what it's all about!! Good job everyone and hope to see everyone next year!!!

Well official head count 35 head of hogs all over 150 way to go guys the witness was impressed we had 5 hogs in the first hour  Team Barefoot left at 2 am to make it to weigh in. Running on 4 hrs of sleep I say good job guys 21 hrs of hog hunting and 35 head sounds good to me win or lose y'all caught a lot of hogs in a short time period but thats how we do it every year just glad we had a witness sent down here by the contest director to see how we do it!!! Somebody that would weigh in a 'ringer' just ain't got no pride. How could u get satisfaction cheatin your way to a win? Is there that much prize $$  ?  maybe they need to send a judge or repmwith each team to assure everyone's catchin wat they bring in

Just sayin team barefoot has a guy down her watching them and so far on the first night we have 27 hogs so far  no high games fences either may or may not win but just headed back put after a 4 hr nap and glad there is someone here to witness the team barefoot is legit at catching those hogs!! Well this year we have a guy they sent down here to witness our hogs so may or may not win but already got 27 and still going so maybe now everyone will calm down and quit thinking team barefoot cheats.. Win or lose fun to watch!!! that's our motto...

Well guys sorry no nurse or teacher here I am a stay at home mom, feed and take care of 30 + dogs and I build fences  and i buy wild hogs year round for a living my hubby manages ranches and is a Fireman 24 on 48 off thats what we like about that job more time for hunting.. Prices are good 6 hogs last night brought 726.00 the night before 3 hogs brought 400.00 one went 360 lbs that was 195.00 by its self...so I guess hog hunting fits in to our jobs as well thats  how we make most of our living is hog hunting and hog trapping ...

The Prices here by Abilene Tx are up as well our company is needing 150 head a week  and the numbers are down I sold a 362 lb boar for 195.00 dang good for one hog I had a few more over 200 had a good check..
our prices are:
50-80 .20 cents
80-100 .30 cents
101-150 .40 with $5.00 bonus
151-200 .50 with $10.00 bonus
201- and up .50 with $15.00 bonus
we stay open year round it just gets slow in the summer. last year I shipped out 1809 head and 200,000 lbs and in 2009 it was 1378 head and 190,399 hogs are still going stong in our county..

I wanted to see how many stations that kept up with the totals were doing compared to the years before Just to let everyone know how it looks from the Wild hog buying station end on totals: Feel free to post your station totals on here just to see how different locations hog population is doing.
Here by Abilene Tx at our station Jan09 to Dec 09 I took in 1378 head and total wt that was at least 50 lbs was 190,399 total wt then Jan 2010 to dec 2010 it was 1809 head over 50 lbs and total wt was 200,120.. Pretty good numbers for our small county these are dog and trapped hogs. I took in 300 total that didnt make the 50lb cut.
here are just a few of my top 5 sellers:: 
1.162head  25,007lbs all dog caught these were my own personal dog caught hogs had 10 over 300lbs
2. 124 head 15,829 lbs in 3 mths all trapped
3. 111head  17230 lbs all trapped
4.106 head 12785lbs trapped
5. 97 head 12493lbs trapped

Ours are the same but 200 and up are .50 cents with a 15.00 bonus we are by abilene tx

I agree our wt last year was not as high as it was this year, and we dont use 5 dogs on 1 hog we use 1 catch dog and maybe a baydog if need. We make a living off of our caught hogs and tyhey will not take them if they have marks on them its not easy to train dogs to get off the ear so quick but to pay my biils I have to. We sold over 100,000 lbs last year and i have paper work to prove it.. We dont just do this for fun yes it is fun but this is how I pay my bills and feed my kids. Barefoot Bob is my father in law which I have known since I was 2 yrs old he has been hunting hogs since he was probably 8 yrs old alone and Barefoot... He then has his son hunting and guiding hunts at 9 yrs old so its in there blood to be hunters.. He is super nice and you can call us up and come down and hunt with us or just talk with him he has more knowledge than I will ever be able to remember, He has been on numerous Tv shows and has atleast 20 to 30 people from out of state some out of our country come down just to meet him and go chase a hog... I wont lie I dont cheat or steal but I will admit if I get beat I get beat, I have had nights where we have been out and got skunked didnt catch a hog one and then I have been out and caught up to 20 a night its just part of the game. But I hope all hunters realize dont listen to what ya hear from others thats how people get bad reputations just call me up and i will let you be the judge of what kind of people the Richardson's are.. Well first off they have been doing this since he was 7 yrs old and second off they did not win it last year and third off I as a woman flip these hogs myself at 5'2 120lbs andI take my 5 and 11 yr old girls with me our dogs are trained well enough that we use 1 catch dog and when i get there to flip it as soon as i grab ahold of it the dog lets go and stays back waiting in case it gets away... If it doesnt get away  i can tell it to go on and it will go to the next dog thats bayed up and same process there takes place..I take several dogs on the hunt but each of my older trained dogs get there on hogs sometimes we dont even use a bay dog I have some fast crosses that catch them without help. One night I had 5 people me my husband , brother kids, and a friend in an costal field and each dog had there own hog we were all tying our own hogs and our bay dogs caught some as well, we brought in 10 head that night smallest one was 200 lbs biggest one was 362lbs.. We have voluenteered to video tape the whole process next year in which yes we do catch alot of hogs in 2 days we dont sleep and we hunt hard We personally sell our hogs we catch year round and they wont buy them if the have marks on there ears I sell over 100,000 pounds of hogs each year and I have the paperwork to prove it. So before you start trying to give someone a bad reputation come on down her by Abilene Tx and i will show you are hogs are legit but be ready to pull several all nighter cause this is how we make our living is off of hogs..I personally do have hogs chewed up but it usually all of our young or new dogs we are training give them a few weeks to a month and if they are going to make it as a catch dog they are broke off the catch the same way.. I dont enjoy having to pry a dog from a hogs ear it waste time and cost me money cause i cant sell a chewed up hog.. So i suggest you see last year winner results we didnt bring in the wt this year that we did last year and yes we are hunting 10,000 plus acres down here in one hunt thats just one of our locations we could go to nice river bottoms wheat fields and cover plus all of our dogs are our own bloodline since 20 years ago and we may use a pit thats not our lines we have over 60 dogs between the 2 families so before you point fingers get the facts or come on down here and we will take you and you can see for yourselfs.. Here in west Texas if we turn a hog loose we would be shot by every farmers around they are causing some folks to go dang broke.. I have a buying station and hunt with dogs myself and I dont know of one person who wants these hogs cut and turned out.. I aint knocking you for doing it by all means cause those that do turn the small ones out and recatch later keeps me buyin, but my landowners i hunt on feel way different about it.. I dont let anything go and niether do most around here just cause for every hog caught is a dollar made when there is a buying station around I bet  shipped out 100,000 head documented last year. Hey every one has there ways every man has different habitats.

We brand all our own freeze brand that is all you need is clippers dry ice and at least 80% or higher rubbing alcohol. All our brands are registared R on hip and ear. I dont have a dog that is a keeper that goes with out a brand. We have 40 + and my father in law has 40+ we found branding your own is cheaper than paying for each one to be done. lol
