Good to know, I didn't realize that was an option.
2  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Garmin Alpha on: November 05, 2014, 10:13:26 am
I like the function of mine but durability of the collars has been an issue for me. I have had to warrantee one collar after the first hunt when it got wet. The second I had to warrantee because a boar stuck a tooth through the housing. I have another one that is nearly punched through but is still waterproof. I have had the system on less than ten hunts.

Well, didn't mean for the text to wipe it out. Let's try again.
6  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Largest wild hog killed on: March 03, 2014, 10:58:27 am
The spotted hog in the middle weighed 320. All three hogs were caught in about two hours. They were caught last October. I didn't weigh this one but he was bigger than the 320 lb. hog.

Well Trenton, I'm glad to have the shock feature, my trashy dogs need it. I don't have any of those pure hog dogs, they think they are meat dogs. Lol I do wish they offered them without it though, if they were cheaper.

I got my new Garmin alpha and this thing is smarter than I am! Ready to get it in the woods. Any tips from those already using one?

Look up "Alligator den diving at the Hageman Reserve" on YouTube.

Bayed a boar in a bull gator den in the side of the river bank last year. Luckily it was cold enough all he could do was hiss. Cds wouldn't go in the hole, i guess the gator smell kept them out thank heavens. He was about 11-12 ft long. We got video for you non believers. Lol
12  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Catch dogs that never miss on: February 10, 2014, 07:18:02 pm
It's cool to hear about these dogs. I know every dog will miss time to time, but I sure hate turing one loose 4-5 times in a hunt to have them hit and the hog break and run. We bayed a good one this weekend, I saw him and when he broke you could hear him for a long ways "growling" as i call it. That deep guttural drawn out grunt of a pissed off mature boar. He ran them through some shoats and got away. I know a lot of bulldogs catch, but I value a good one more than I think a lot of people do. I believe they are as hard to find as good strike dogs. Once you have had one it is hard to be satisfied with one that isn't that good.
13  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Catch dogs that never miss on: February 09, 2014, 08:08:56 pm
Hello there fellas, I haven't been on here in some time, but I have been pondering something. After having a junky cd miss several hogs this weekend I want to hear about the best cd you have owned or been around. I don't want to hear about the best looking or the dogs that hit like a train. I want to know about the dogs that when you send them to a bay, you know that pretty much every time they will connect and stick. I ESPECIALLY want to hear about the ones that ease into a bay and pick a shot rather than charge in blind. I have only had one, and he caught maybe 20 hogs before he met his match. He was from the pound. I also want to know if these dogs produce similar offspring.
14  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Free pups on: November 02, 2013, 09:56:43 am
I have two brindle male pups, 8 weeks old out of some good blood. They are bmc, Parker cur, and a little catahoula. Located near Sulphur Springs TX. I don't have pics but they are good looking pups. These bloodlines have a high percentage of producing good dogs. I don't normally give pups to folks I don't know but all my buddies are full up with dogs, so they are first come first served. I will not hold them or meet you somewhere, for a free dog you can come to my house. Call or text 903-348-2180.

15  GENERAL CATEGORY / HUNTING AND FISHING / Fishing in the Gulf? on: August 17, 2013, 04:27:03 pm
Ok y'all, my wife and I have our anniversary coming up and want to make a weekend getaway. She isn't much for hunting but lives to fish. I've been thinking about hiring a guide to take us out in the Gulf but I know nothing about saltwater fishing. It would be the first part of October, so I don't know if that's good or bad timing. Are there any locations and/or  guides that anyone can recommend?

17  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Dogo/pit cd on: June 14, 2013, 09:47:03 am
I bought this dog last winter when my two good CDs got killed. He got me through the rest of the winter but due to a new job and hot weather I am not hunting much right now. He is a decent cd, has caught some decent pigs solo for me. No aggression at all, will ride with any of my other dogs in the box no problem. He is missing one canine tooth and I was told he is about 5 yr old.  I just want what I gave for him which is $100. Call or text 903-348-2180.

Michael Woodall (Txhoghunter on here) has a really good Bmc stud. He is in Cooper, so not far from you. He is one of the best dogs I've hunted with. He is everything you described.
19  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: 3-17 & 3-18 hunts. Rough day. on: March 19, 2013, 07:11:38 pm
D-man was the best I've hunted with by far. I've had two gyps out of him, both were making outstanding dogs when they got killed. He was a once in a lifetime kind of dog, and a producer in his offspring. I think I was as sick as Michael when it happened.
20  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Whats Missing ? on: March 08, 2013, 09:30:49 pm
I've only got one dog that I would want to reproduce, and what I would change is he is too rough. He hunts out, finds, trails, bays, rolls out after the catch, and will stay hooked right for me, but he stays cut too much.
