1  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: 330lb easter evening boar (pics).... on: May 10, 2011, 02:56:59 pm
that hog is something to be proud of .nice job. i respect the people that catch and tie hogs alot more than shootn or stabbing them. a ten year old kid can do that.catchn and tieing says alot about the dog and his owner when u do it alone!
2  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Intense hunt, BAD hog... 5.8.11 on: May 10, 2011, 02:28:09 pm

3  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Why do we run so many bay dogs? on: April 20, 2010, 03:40:04 pm
i agree u domt need all those dogs 2 catch  good hogs.more dogs seems to say something about how much confidence the person has in his dogs and  the persons abilities

5  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: should i hunt this rough dog? on: March 03, 2010, 09:48:28 am
i have a cat/boxer gyp. ive only seen her in a pen and she is very rough. she doesnt catch and hold on, she'll grab an ear, snout, leg, nuts,, whatever and hold for a few seconds and let go, bark, then catch again. it be much of a loss if i lose this dog but im worried that my other cur dogs might get hurt hunting with this dog. they arent real rough dogs but they will sink some teeth in a hog. what are yalls experiences and opinions on this?hunt the dog by itsself  a few times cuz if ots catchy already when u put it with other dogs it will probably be more aggessave

8  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Bay dogs vs. catchy dogs on: March 03, 2010, 09:30:47 am
1000% bay.... but that sure doesn't mean I don't want them to put teeth on a hog to set him down and bay tight(when necessary)....  just don't catch his a$$!
if the dog doesnt put some teeth on the hog ,the hog will never stop running Grin ;Dstop worring so much
9  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Rough dog advice on: March 03, 2010, 09:25:01 am
Went to Alexandria last week and picked up a brindle cur gyp.  A friend of mine had worked this dog in our training pen and I had the opportunity to watch he work. The dog has a lot of hunt and isn't scared to get out. The only problem is that she is very rough, sometimes to the point of catching. To me that is her only drawback. I have seen rough dogs is the past, that after taking a hard lick, started backing off. In your experience, what can I do to make this dog loosen up.r u  running her alone?if so leave her alone'so she can figure it out.  if running more than one dog than let the dog run by itself.this is comming from someone who has rough dogs

16  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: another catchy versus bay dog thread on: February 28, 2010, 06:06:29 pm
rough dogs seem to be more consistant but sometimes pay the price.  loose dogs let more hogs slip by and u do a lot more chasing dogs through the woods.just my opinion
17  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: bayin styles on: February 28, 2010, 05:55:47 pm
one rough bay dog should do the trick    put more confedence in the dogs
