Believe they are just a family "line" of dogs with "collie" heritage, herding dogs with a little more nose then some others, should be intersting to see what ya'll think of them

might be something to get some ideas from, walf a 100 plus pound lamb should keep a dog moving just fine.
10  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Kelpie/ ACD cross pup 7 month old male on: October 22, 2013, 12:19:09 pm
Spike is out of a registered kelpie and a registered heeler, smart 7 month old pup shows a lot of interest in stock with a lot of bite. Built more like a heeler but black and tan like a kelpie. has all his shots and neutered, will make nice stock dog, trackdog ( exercise club lambs and goats) , or maybe even running catch type dog.  I did not bred him but got him to train as a trackdog and don't have time right now $400, video is first time he saw goats a month ago. He is a lot more aggresive now.

Don't set anything on fire in Texas as dry as it is here liable to burn whole state down, lol Just pick the one that you lke the best ( looks, personalit, etc. ) no way to tell with pups but if you like it from the beginnnig that always helps. I usually pick middle of the road one.

Oh and the tag had come off his collar evidently on closer inspection the rivet holes where there but of course no tag so check your gear as a friendly reminder.

Thanks and yes he is a hog dog,  sounds like he is more of a rough help dog to me and was found because I posted him on this board. Maybe should make a section for found/lost dogs?

16  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Found a hog dog this morning- Caldwell,TX Cooks Point area on: June 26, 2013, 05:25:59 pm
Trey, In all likelihood he is probably a cull. Somebody did not want to do the right thing & just dumped him without identification. Either the owners did not have permission Or the dog is a cull. If he was good, you would think he would have some kind of tracking devise or ID on him. Anyway, hope the owner does claim him. Hate it when dogs get dumped.

Could be wouldn't think a cull could get as scarred up as this one  is but possible or it could be as SJ put it just thought I would try to give someeone a chance at gettingn there dog back, pretty sure he won't last long at the pound just on his looks of alone. I hve had one person contact me but he couldn't tell me what he looked like but thought he was a buddy of his dog? will see if that pans out?

1-Found in area that is adjacent to places people hog hunt although land he was on is not available to hunt
2- he is a cross of two to three breds commonly used for hog hunting that is easy to see
3- scars
I guess he could be a cow dog but he aint going to live long if that's his profession and was not found baying cows in the pasture he was in.

Large bred dog like that my advice would be long walks and let him grow up some more before I really started stressing his jonts and teeth.
