1  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: King snake on: June 04, 2018, 10:10:11 am
King cobras eat other snakes but are not immune. King snakes have an enzyme that binds with the venom making it harmless to the kings. But they can still be injured by the bite.

My students do walk out sometimes but they don’t have any say in what class they get. My students have been kicked out of school and then kicked out of the alternative school. We are their last chance. I will have the snake covered if someone has a phobia. I always want my students to feel safe. I have jumped in and grabbed some big boys. I keep them from getting a criminal charge and to keep the other students safe. But I have not had a student with tusks Grin Even students that assaulted other teachers or principals don’t turn on me because I always treat them with respect. If they can’t take a snake in the room I have a big storage room when that student comes in. I have a way with students to make them comfortable in very stressful situations. They tend to come to my room when they are stressed.

I will be out looking for snakes again today.

I plan to feed it snakes when no kids are around to complain. I have creek full of water snakes to feed it. Every wannabe gangster has a boa. I like garter snakes better than boas because they are very active. But the king snake is the only snake in the whole world that has an immunity to the venomous snakes in its area. There are many science areas that I can use it for because I teach every high school science. I also want to teac the kids not to kill a snake just because it is a snake. If any wild caught snake is not doing well you can release it. I would never release any captive bread or non native species.

I’ll give a buttermilk racer a chance and if it gets stressed out I can just release it. I am not into letting anything suffer. If a king snake lives five years I’ll just release it and catch another one. Plus I was told wild caught will bite. I Dolan to have the aquarium locked so if one of them criminals opens then I won’t be upset when they get bit. Just better not hurt the snake.

I am a science teacher and I teach the kids other teachers can’t handle. I teach more hands on and showing. Many of my students have problems adults couldn’t handle so I have to work hard to get and keep their attention. Other teachers may be scared of them but I don’t have problems. I just treat them like hunting dogs that need redirecting. So I will be catching all kinds of critters and just can’t seem to find a king snake. I even found a coral snake but don’t think that would be a good idea in a classroom.

I found out buttermilk racers don’t do good confined.

I mostly want snakes from here. I’ll take one of those too. Just let me know when and where we can meet up. I still want a speckled king snake not one of the fancy things found in a pet store. But that buttermilk racer looks cool too.
5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: King snake on: June 02, 2018, 07:15:36 am
Now are seeing snakes or speckled king snakes?

I have only seen a few in my life but they are pretty for a snake. The ones I saw drew back like they were going to strike and started shaking their tail. Then when I tried to grab them they took off and I couldn’t find em. I was shown a trap that I try if I can find a place I know where they are. I will also bring a net because I am not as young and quick as I think I am.

I am a teacher and want one for my classroom. So I have the summer to get one. If you want to keep the places secret pm me.

Does anybody know place that has king snakes near Houston? I know they are around but want to catch one or get one. I want a speckled king snake. I am sick and tired of kids knowing more about the animals in Australia or Africa than the ones in their own backyard. I keep find garter snakes and cotton mouths. I got a garter but just can’t find a king snake. I don’t want a captive bread one I want one but don’t mind paying someone if they catch one. But I want the black one with the speckles not bands. But if you know where they are I can catch one too.
7  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Wild Goat on: July 25, 2016, 11:36:57 pm
Yeah for sure wear clothes! Wouldn't like right chasing a goat around naked!!
Chasing a goat naked? I have done dumber things Grin I have seen what a deer can do with feet. I have never messed with a goat. If they don't kick and only ram with the horns then maybe going naked would make it fun, I believe it is a girl Wink

For real I figured on getting kicked. But just like a pig move fast, grab hard, and don't let go. I will bring some mule tape. I sneak up on pigs by moving when they are rooting to cover my noise. But I ain't never seen a goat root. So not sure how hard it will be but I will try at least once before I get a trap. Mostly because it seems like fun. All good real stories start with "hey y'all watch this!"

My wife said I was crazy but if it could be done I would probably do it. When we are driving and I suddenly pull over and jump out she never knows what I will come back with. She thinks a goat is better than some other things I have brought home. I will be out there tomorrow just sneaking around with some mule tape. I will keep my clothes on because my wife gets mad when I get naked naked and chase other girls.
8  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Open dogs on: July 25, 2016, 03:31:36 pm
I have found that different dogs just catch different hogs. Run your open dogs then another night run your silent dogs. I got one that is quiet until she is nipping at their heels. Then she yips at them. I love that dog because when other dogs start baying and she is at my side I know they are trashing and she wants me to know that she ain't got no part of it. But I can't bring her with some people because they don't like that yip she does. But if you like the dog and it gets hogs then do what you want. But be respectful when hunting with other people.
9  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Wild Goat on: July 25, 2016, 03:26:40 pm
Trap was all I could think of. Too many trees for a rope or net. The goat was up against the trees and ran right back into it. I was thinking about throwing some feed out for a few days with a game cam. If the goat shows up then put a trap. Guess I will have to build one with a roof. Don't think a corral trap will work.

Charles thought about giving you a call the other day. I drove through your area. I should be back through there middle of next month. If I have time for lunch I will give you a shout.
10  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Which Company Runs the Best, Closest to Tusk Proof Cut Vests? on: July 25, 2016, 02:29:37 pm
That is like a bullet proof vest. There is no vest that will stop every bullet and if there was nobody could wear it. The more cut proof the more it restricts movement. I used to put vests on every dog. One day I went out where there only small pigs so I just took one cur and no vest. She started baying in some thick stuff. When I got in there I saw that she had a boar about 150-200lbs and I did not have a catch dog. when the boar saw me he charged my dog and I thought I just lost a dog. But she jumped up and spun in the air landing right behind that boar and nipped his butt to turn him around. She could never have pulled that move off with any vest on. Plus they are hot. So I still use them on catch dogs. But when I bring in a catch dog on a sow I take the vest off so they learn to catch so they don't get bit. They learn if they catch head on they better pick up that leg on the mouth side and turn around on the pig. There is always a big enough bad enough boar out there that can cut any vest. I want my dogs to be able to move first and protection is second. Catch dogs are not as agile as a bay dog so I will put a vest on them and cut collars on the bay dogs. But life is dangerous and nobody will get out alive.
11  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Wild Goat on: July 25, 2016, 02:14:11 pm
I just saw a goat on my way home. I pulled over to see it and see if I could get hold of it to check with a guy a few miles away that has goats. But when I stopped it took of and ran into the woods. I have have caught lots of wild things by hand even some I wish I had not grabbed hold of, but never a wild goat. I can't use dogs there even with permission because there are too many busy roads. I am going to have to hide and wait or sneak up on it. Now she does have some some large horns. If I get the back legs do goats turn on you and use the horns? I know to wear clothes and expect to get kicked. But I need some advice on how to catch a wild goat in the woods.

15  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Ceramic Grilling on: May 21, 2015, 10:58:22 am
I was in the Costco in Duncanville. South of Dallas for those not from here. They had a guy selling Kamado Joe. They are those ceramic grills. I know the Costco price is always the lowest. But I want to know who has cooked on one. Do they really work as good as that guy said?
16  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Haven't been on here in a while on: September 30, 2014, 10:59:01 pm
I like that whip it looks real nice. It would look better with a Lone Star on the end Grin Naw I like that gator tooth just fine.
17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: on: September 30, 2014, 10:52:18 pm
There is probably an ISIS fella in Syria that can lift more weight than any of us, work harder and longer, and shoot straighter......but when that missile comes humming in...it's all irrelevant at that point. Take that statement for what it's worth, but I'm just saying...some of the most respectable men and women are never seen by the naked eye or even the word of mouth. So how bout' them cowboys? Not a fan, but all be dang if they didn't finally win a game. Lol
I ain't never seen one shoot straight. The safest place to be when they shoot is right in front of them  Forget the missiles just send in small groups to hunt them down and kill them like the pigs they are. They are not a nation so they should not be given any protections given a nation's military. Go old school Texas Rangers on them. Hunt them down, burn any town they hide in to the ground and leave their bodies hang'n. Then bring our boys home and have them ready in ase someone stirs up more poop. One riot one Ranger. They knew how to stop tough men that could shoot. Those clowns just kill the inocent people then run, hide and say they are peaceful. There are no international laws to protect criminals so hang em high. We just need a President that has a pair of balls bigger than his wife's.
18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Lazy people on: September 21, 2014, 09:16:52 pm
Now I have known some bad dudes. Some of the baddest were my grandpa's cowboys the baddest one was my grandpa. Never saw one of them throw a fist. But they could be cutting cattle have the whip off the horn cracked on a cow and back on the horn before you could say bull whip. Never heard a one of them say how tough they were. But other people said they were tough and nobody would mess with my grandpa even after 70 years old. Now I wish I was as tough has he was. He never saw a need for air conditioning or indoor plumbing. He earned the respect of his cowboys. Never heard an excuse from him. I could go on and on. But you should never put down a decorated soldier. I don't post hunting pics or stories and won't unless someone has helped me and I do it as a way to say thanks. I don't hunt to impress anyone and don't care what anybody thinks. I do like to stir things every now and then. I think it is funny when people get all upset about someone else's opinion.

Now Taz I asked about how much working out paid just to find out. Nobody pays me to workout any more so I work now. I work at least 12 hours a day and I do not know when I will get a day off. Most people can't handle my job and that is why it pays good. But I am looking for another job so I can hunt more. Work sure gets in the way of living. It is great that you can get paid to work out. I don't know or worry about how tough anybody is. It doesn't matter to me someone is tougher than me or not. Lots of people are tough and lots are not. I like to think I am special but to be real I am only special to my wife and kids. That is fine by me.

My hero is still John Wayne

Mostly you see them start leaking and you replace them. Never seen one stop working.
20  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Lazy people on: September 18, 2014, 10:24:43 pm
I just don't like rude people no matter the color or how hard they work. Some people are just jerks and it makes work drag on. Taz the point was that he had a guy that worked out but did not work. You brought up that nobody could do your workout? How much does that workout pay? I can puke while I am running and not even stop. But if you find a workout that pays like a job I will be all over it. Now when it was brought up about uys in shape not working I would have to ask if they got in shape working in a gym or working? Now some people do both but not many. So Taz you might be one of the ones that can do it and that is great. But as a general statement I would agree that guys that workout can't hang in a real world test. I know some ex pro football players and they are still in great shape. But I have never seen them do real work.
