well i have been hunting all summer and the only thing i have seen is deer! this leads me to think there are way more deer than hogs so maybe hog hunting SHOULD be more exspensive because they are sooo rare  

get you a walker gyp and cross with your birddog and you'll have some sure enough good deer dogs,or you can come buy old repo and have you a real hog dog if he let you gwet in your buggy.lol

preheat your material with a torch and use 8018 or 11018 rods.two pass's top and bottom.

carried mine hunting with me in ninety five she aint been back.it takes a special woman to know and understand hog hunting usually to rough for most.there are some out there though if my 66 year old mama could still ride her horse she'd be right there with us lol.now my wife does deer hunt,and turkey hunt with me.overall they generally to kind hearted for hog hunting,again i say there is your exception.

i disagree mr purebreed sometime them shy dogs make the best ones aint just anyone gonna catch him.you make him your own ,and yall good for life .i show all my dogs who's alpha in MY dog pack may sound crazy but its worked for me for years i'm not telling anyone to beat em down either. a coward dog aint worth a thing.what i'm saying is show him your friends but you are topdog and you aint taking no crap off him.i've had a bunch of shy dogs out of them bennett /perry dogs they aint weak they just dont want to be jacked with.just find a happy medium i guess and to each his own.i'd never cull a pup at six weeks some of my best have come into their own after a 1 1/2 old.i've took biting dogs that no one could handle and got wherte we had a agreement they did'nt bite me and i would'nt get rough on them.again just a single opinion from one man to another.

i agree with you its a shot in the dark you win some you loose some.cull factor is what counts knowing when to and when not to.lol.it's a damn gamble.

i've used baby oil in the past and it worked tried turpentine years ago and like to have got my arm ate off lol.live and learn.the key is to smother them with the oil.

The Winchester dog was an old brindle cur that goes back to the Winfrey's dogs out of Coldspring... which I believe goes back the Woodruff's stock.

i see so alot of dogs are showing this stock i appreciate you letting me know this,

i also have in the last six months bred a linebreeding of this dog stock and two males and a female i'm gonna start using in the winter.right now we have five curs of this lineage and three cur/dogo rcfd out of it. when i hear parker or tweety or winchester all good blood by their own rights but if you ever hunted with one of them black rascals that will roll out and find hog after hog after hog you know what i'm talking about.again no disrespect to the origins of the other dog stock mentioned just hard to beat that line of dogs.be they black ,tan ,saddleback,or brindle.
