I have a plot cur cross that I want to get rid off. she has some pit in her to with a bit off walker. dad is full plot but mom was plot cur pit walker.  she will go to a bay and will get really rough with the hog. she has only been on like 10 hunts and has always been at the bay and getting a bite with the catch dog.. she shows a bit of aggression to strange dogs but not to my pack. I also have a ridgeback/dogo male that I would let go also. he is starting to wind hogs good and really trying to work. she is 2 and the male is 3 they both are good dogs just don't get along with my friends dogs and I don't hunt much alone. will take 300 for the pair or 150 for the female and 200 for the male. 214-673-4645 sold the male  thanks Cody
6  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / ridgeback/hound on: January 05, 2013, 10:19:45 am
My female ridgeback got breed to my black and tan hound. Got some pups left to get rid of they free if someone wants to try them out. The mom is short range but will honor a bay and will get out and hunt around 200 yds or so. The male would get out and really range around 600 to 900 but was open so I got rid of him. The man that has him now put a shocker on him and he said he silent as a mouse now. And has already found like 20 hogs for him. He has had him about 4 months now, and he will only be 2 as of Feb. 2013. just trying to get rid of them. I’m keeping one to try and see if they will work if so will breed her back to another more proven hound later. 214-673-4645 droberts7575@yahoo.com I’m in Kaufman TX. That’s about 35 miles south east of Dallas.

13  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / garmin problems on: February 02, 2012, 08:11:52 am
Have any of u ever had a Garmin 220 give u a false reading. I was hunting last night and the dogs had a bay going on at around 350. Then they went out like .6 but one of them was still at 375. Showed moving but not going anywhere. Got to where he was supposed to be and no dog. Called looked and nothing. Said we were right on top of him. So left and went to the bay that was still around 700 away. Half way there it shows him at the bay then he comes back to me at around 350 and would not go back to the bay till we were like at 100 from it. This dog is my best strike dog and has never quite me before. Was thinking maybe got knocked out at the first bay and then was in a dizzy. What do yawl think

the other day Gene and myself, along with a friend Tony and Gene's daughter and my son went to the sand pits to see if we could run us some. Man did we ever, we ran into hogs every where. We ended up with 7 for the day and had some realy nice hogs get away. We would hit a group and the dogs would catch a small one and the others would run. Was some realy tough contry and couldnt get to the hogs quick enough to get the dogs off and on to the other hogs. had some pups with us and ended up being a realy good day.
19  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 3 mile run on: December 23, 2011, 06:35:37 am
Well the other night my bud and I went out with his daughter and her friend to let the dogs get a run. Gene had seen some fresh tracks earlier that day so we let out over by them. The dogs hit the ground running we had Peanut, Calvin, Melvin, Trouble, Alee, Brumie, and the two rcd Bob and Gus. Well they kind of catchdog/rcd can go either way. The dogs were out running all around and we just kind of was riding around and stopping letting them work. Went up the hill following the tracks that Gene had saw earlier. The dogs were making a round and nothing, so we started up and was moving on when I looked at the Garmin and saw that Brumie and Bob were around 250 yards out so I killed it and could hear them bayed, well wasn’t for sure some old yote started in and had me second guessing myself. After I was for sure I drove up to Gene and the girls and said let’s go, pulled up around the corner and jumped off the rig and was running to the bay when I started jumping pigs. There were pigs everywhere. Ran in there to a cedar tree and the dogs had this 125 to 150 lbs. sow caught. I grabbed her and Gene came in and stuck her. Headed back to the rides and looked up and saw that the dogs were all about 600 out so took off after them. Got to the fence and laid it down and drove over it to out next place and found the dogs bayed up on the creek with a great big S.O.B. When we got there he broke and got in the creek and was working the dogs over pretty good. That ol sneaky hog slipped away in that water and was sitting around the bend in the creek watching those dogs up on the top just work. I was watching the pig, and just at that time he came out and ran me up a tree. The chase was on again. Well to make a long story short, that pig broke three more times before we got him stopped. Cheeked the Garmin and ran that sucker like 3 miles. When we finely got to him the dogs were wore out and we shot him like three to four times with Genes 40 and my 45. Nice hog(250) and was real proud of the dogs for staying with him. Defiantly the longest run we have been on in a long time.
20  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / pups first hunt on: December 12, 2011, 05:48:55 pm
Well got a call Sat evening around 1 that my bud had seen some hogs over on his place. The boys and I decide to get the dogs out and run the pups for the first time. My two boys got the dogs Brume, Copper, Dan, and Hank and loaded them up in the trailer. Brume is my strike dog (plott) and copper (ab/cat) my running catch dog Dan (dogo/ridgeback) and Hank (black and tan) Hank and Dan’s first hunt. We let them all run and covered this small set of woods around 25 to 30 acres, brume made a circle of about 400 yards and the pups went with him. When they got back brume went out again but the pups ran with copper he goes out around 100 to 150 so was glad to see them out working. Dan is going on one year and hank on 10 months. well came out in a opening and my oldest went back for the rig, me and Tris walked the edge of the field and old brume went out around 200 with the pups right behind him and winded a hog out in the woods around 75 to 100 yards in. all I could hear is hank just a barking first time to hunt with a hound. Well when we got there they had this sow caught. Copper on one ear and Dan on the other was real proud of them two. We tied her up to let the boys get some action and practice in thy don’t get to help that much. All in all a good hunt with me and my boys. Had a blast
