HOG & DOGS / HOG HUNTING CONTESTS / Re: 2013 TDHA Wild Hog Roundup
|

yes mike i believe it surely did or i know it did because a lot of teams closer to me really wanted to hunt both. They are now supporting us and we are glad to support or help them anyway we can.
There was a big push by Bayed solid and Brian "pigman" to make the dates different so that they could have there contest at los cazadores and they are planning something new for the TDHA hunt.
Most importantly right now is the planning on what type of hunt (dead or alive) we will do this year.
I am happy to say though i have brought up a new idea and am hoping it all works out. I am pushing for a coon hunt contest to go on at the same time as the hog contest. Very early thoughts but its looking good and getting good feed back.
Thanks Mike, Matt
Thanks Matt! Yes we are very sorry the dates conflicted with this hunt last year as we dont want anyone to have to choose which one to hunt. We will be backing this hunt this year and look forward to hunting in it as well. We appreciate all you guys do for the sport1 Let us know what we can do to help...

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Pig Man Helicopter Episode

Keith you were there on the helicopter hunt so what was actually done with all the hogs that were shot. To heck with the buzzards and the coyotes they can find food somewhere else. Ted Nugent is always preaching about killing for food and living on what you kill so if they were killed just to protect a man's crop and left to waste that would make him a hypocrite. So maybe you can clear this up Keith.
I was on the ground running a camera with guys on 3 rangers picking up as many of the hogs we could get to. Did we get them all no but we took as many as we could to be gutted, cleaned and fed to the hungry.

i guess thats the only way pigman can get a hog. i know he come over here to alabama and hunted 4 days in a competion hunt and i dont think he even caught 1 hog. someone that enjoyed dog hunting would not go out and do that, it just makes no sense to go shoot them if your a dog hunter, them farmers are not loosing money they have insurance on everybit of them crops
Well well! Ebarnes, give me a break man! This was an 11,000 acre ranch and they farmed all the bottoms! These hogs were costing them thousands of $$$$'s in crop damages and this is what he wanted to do to get rid of as many hogs as possible... I'm sure his last concern was having you a place to run your dogs! I own and raise my own dogs! Absolutely luv the sport and will always hunt my dogs! Sorry if we don't measure up to you and your standards but there are other issues with hogs besides you having 1000's laid up for you to catch. If for one minute think that these helicopter hunts are going to erratiicate hogs then you are wrong...... Sorry to stir you up so bad!! As far as team Pigmancoming to Alabama, we arrived 2 days after the hunt had started, went to a place that had been hunted 2 days in front of us, and to another place that was right on the river and caught several hogs. We weighed in the decent pigs nothing big and catch several choats throughout the 3 day stay..... Are we experts?? Hell no, are we the best?? Hell no!! Never claimed to be we just broadcast our hunts on TV... Good luck men and let's stick together very chance we get!! Long live the sport!!!

Second half of the show will ait next week. It will get better!! Thanks for watching...
Keith Rand
Mr. Rand, was this a tournament or just ya'll vs. Bayed solid??? Didn't get to catch the show. "the sun is shining somewhere in texas" -Jason Boland Yes, it was the Los Cazadores tourney. We had a challenge between us and Bayed Solid and Terry the owner of BS came up with the belt idea. I wish that belt could be for whoever wins the contest along with the belt buckles but they are concerned that it wont be returned every year!! We look forward to next year!! Yall be safe!

Yes the dog referred to as Woody is Jason's Woodrow. He's a pretty good dog but has his on and off days like the rest of them! When he's on he's on but he has those days when he won't go but he's getting old!! Dogs will be dogs and we've got some good ones and some not so good ones! Dont pay attention to the "best dogs in the world" comment by ole Pigman, sometimes he gets a little ahead of himself when talking!! Ole Shep, We cant wait to see the blood dog work! Copy me on that video too and send it to krand@hughes.net we will be going in together on the dog. Thanks and hope all is well! Keith Rand

hey!!!!!!!!!!! didnt mean it in a bad way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it would b nice to use one we hunted a 25000 acre ranch it would have made it alot easier!!!!!!!!!!!!
10-4 not taken in a bad way just making it clear it wasnt for our benefit!! I dont know if would have made it easier or not. They located some hogs on the chopper and still couldnt locate them on the ground..... Still got to go out there and find em and catch em!! No worries and be safe!! Keith Rand

NOPE NOT ALL WE TOOK FIRST AND WE DID IT THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Helicopter wasnt for us big daddy, you might watch it again and see who it was for!! We hunted our own place and didnt have to fly it to locate them although we got our A** out run all weekend . The Bayed Solid boys rented the helicopter to fly the Rafter R where they hunted not us (they had never been there and were trying to learn the place). As we have said many times, there are some real hunters down south and we respect every one of them!! I can assure you that Team Pigman did it right as we'll but had a tough time. Congrats on your win and congrats on weighin in the most weight since the contest started!! See ya next year! Good luck, be careful and keep catchin and tieing!! Long live the sport!!

We still run one all the time. Clinton is one of my best friends and we hunt together damn near every time we go to the woods. He owns the dog "Honey" that y'all have seen on the show and she has been on three legs for a long time. She caan still get around and is a hog finding wench! She is getting old now and we don't take her as much but she can still do it! Her lack of mobility is because of her age now not the 3 leg deal. You dog should be fine and I bet he rolls out and get her done! Good luck.

I know i met him in illinois deer hunting at long beards taxidermy and he lied and said he was going to send us some hats. thought he was a good guy but he's not a man of his word.
PM me your address and I'll send you some hats. We run a lot of yella dogs and a few cat/bmc crosses but mostly yella! Just got my first full blood cat/leapard and he is a hog bayin SOB in the pen. Tried him at Skippers for the first time this Saturday and he got it on. Gonna enter him in the puppy bay @ Skippers on the 28th and we'll see.

HOG & DOGS / HOG HUNTING CONTESTS / Re: Hunting Contest Date Conflicts...
|
on: January 04, 2012, 08:13:51 pm

I talked personally to Team Barefoot, it was my understanding that they knew what was going on, but apparently not. Los Cazadores and their owners are some of the most stand up people in this world and there has been a misscommunication here. They are considering options and working on this, but let's not be confused!!! The only reason this so called ban has been considered is do to the out pouring of so called fellow hog hunters complaining about Bob's team and their success! They had decided to make this decision to salvage the contest as a result of the number of calls and comments about Ole Bob. What everyone needs to do is relax and take responsibility as to what comes out of each hunt and their performance, dogs, team members or whatever! After all it is still called Hunting! I take full responsibility for being the bearer of bad news but that's it! We obviously play the hand we are dealt good or bad and the rest of the teams need to follow suit! Lie detectors will be in place for sure so I guess Los Cazadores will put up rather than shut up. This will disscussed, addressed and handled by the Los Cazadores staff for the future and moved along from there. I'm sorry to have added to this drama, something I try hard to stay away from! My vote is to let them hunt with or without a whitness, camera or whatever! Good luck to all, hope to see everyone there and we hope you don't have the luck. Had this past year! Our sport of dog hunting is always under fire and touch and go as it is! Let's stick together and cherish this long lived method of hunting!

HOG & DOGS / HOG HUNTING CONTESTS / Re: Hunting Contest Date Conflicts...
|
on: January 03, 2012, 09:29:30 pm

Yes it is, pigman hosted it last year but didnt do so well. This year I expect quote the weigh in from the two and I'm sure barefoot bob will be bringing in some bruisers as well. My only complaint is I better see a lie detector test this year as the rules are loose and cut hogs on in high fenced places are aloud. That being said, I will be entering again this year but caught and tie ran me off from hunt for the hungry We all decided to move the contest due to the heat. We were unaware of the the other contest and we apologize for the confusion. The date is set and will probably remain that date from this day forward but we are not the only one that makes that decision, Los Cazadores has final say obviously. I hope we have a huge turn out and we are working on more good stuff to do along with this contest. We hope to see you all there. We got our butts kicked last year and weighed in some hogs that most people would have never showed up with! In this sport you have your good days and bad days as everyone one here that actually hunts knows!!! Lie detectors will be in place but as many people have said they can be beat too! We enter to have fun but have all intentions to win when we start and that is what keeps us hunting day to day is the thrill of the chase and the surprise that come as we approach every bay! Let's stick together and cherish this sport! Oh, by the way unfortunately Barefoot Bob will not be allowed this year due to huge complaints! Bad deal for ole Bob, don't know him and don't care but it's bad tha people are being banned. We are looking forward to a good ole hunt that everyone can enjoy. Good luck to all and hope to see everyone there!

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: MARRANOS MUERTOS CONTEST 9 TOATAL!!!!

on: May 19, 2011, 02:42:40 pm

Nice reply Mrs. Richardson! I was there but didnt look at yalls hogs, I pulled up right as it was going on and Steve told me about the situation. No matter what Los Cazadores should have had the polygraph machine there but the guy didnt show up. I know now they are wanting to ban Barefoot from the contest next year due to the number of complaints they have recieved. You should send this link to Los Cazadores so that Jason Larue and Steve Mabery can see what everyone thinks about this. They put on a great contest and are trying to do it right. This is only their second year for this and they are still learning. If you have ideas as to how to improve this contest you should call or email them with your suggestions. They will never make everyone happy and there will always be someone pissed off because they didnt win and think they were cheated. I'm dont know if they cheated or not and dont care, I'm more concerned about the buttkickin the S. Texas hogs gave us and we weighed 150 lbs of hogs with 3 freaking hogs. If it wasnt for the dang TV show we wouldn't have even shown back up to the final weight in. All I'm gonna do is go out and do my best and try to put our dogs on the best place we have access to then let the big man above take it from there. Good luck to all and be safe!!

I've never been one to sugar coat much, so here goes......what's more important, him or your 2 year old? I'd have culled him already.
Right on, I'd have done it on the spot! Are these dogs just running loose or in a kennel together?
