I had a red catahoula eat one of the black rubber tubs. It was a smaller one like a feed bowl but he sure ate the hole thing. I dont know how they would do with a hog. We just throw anything that will hold water in our pens.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / BMC at Uncle Earls
|
on: March 27, 2011, 08:03:21 pm

I know I am going out on a limb here but Ill ask anyway. Saturday at Uncle earls around 12 they had the kids catching the little shoats then the guy proposed to his ole lady in the bay pen...then they sorted pigs and the baying started back with the 2 dog events. I think the 1st or 2nd team back in was a pair of black mouth curs led by a man and a woman with blue jeans brown hair and a pink hat. Does anyone have a clue what kennel they were from?

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / loosing dogs

I am new to hog doggin and pretty new to dogs. I lost an old dog probably to heart worms but recently I lost a puppy. I kept it in a shed with a blanket cause the hay I had was wet. I didn't think it got too cold or damp but it must have unless worms got it. I feel lousy as can be even though I try my hardest. I might just ne a little new/ignorant. How often have yall lost dogs due to heat cold or disease? Please tell stories so I can learn to improve. For example I didn't know blankets were a no,no until it was to late.

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Silent hounds

I have heard of almost silent plott hounds and people crossing curs with plotts of course. Is this only a trait that can be found in a plott hound or will blue ticks, red ticks, walkers etc. do the same? Is it just the luck of the draw finding a semi silent hound?

IM new to dog hunting and I have a garmin tracking system, but I am looking at radio/telemetry systems as well. What are the pros and cons of quicktrack, wildlife, F&l, tracker ETC.? What makes them different..is is personal preference like Chevy and dodge?
