When I read post of where dogs run a hog for 4-5 hours it makes me stop and want to think if my dogs would have that kind of bottom, more than likely they wouldn't. The places I hunt it wouldn't take long to be on the neighbors property if hogs ran that bad here. Sometimes reading those posts makes me want to start over and get a pack of those type dogs, but then I stop and realize I catch hogs with what I have.
A lot of the runners that we get on don't just flat out leave the country from the get go.... The dogs run hogs for hours and miles, but.may never get over a mile away... I think it was Mike that said they will make your Garmin tracks look like "a crack head with an Etch a scetch".... Lol I like that phrase!

Sounds good Mike! Unfortunately I won't be free until after April, MLD tags and Quail/Turkey season keep me busy until then on this hunting camp I run.

Thanks Mike, ill have to take you up on that some time! Mike I hunt from Hebbronville, Benavides, Premont, Falfurrias, Encino, McCook, King Ranch all the way down to Raymondville, and all places in between

Jared, I've many a times wondered the same thing reading post on here about hogs running for hours or miles. I've never understood it either to be honest. When it comes down to it I think all it is is that me and you are use to hunting this South Texas brush country. Hogs down here are different I guess, some run, and some stop to fight, just the ones that run don't run for hours. By any means am I saying that my dogs are top notch, cus they're not, but I catch plenty of hogs with them, and I am happy with them. They don't start many hogs that don't get caught sooner or later. Maybe it the country they are in or what they eat, lol. It's not like they aren't pressured cus every other truck around here has a box in the back and poachers are everywhere! The way I see it is our dogs from S.TX, might not make the cut up north but it works both ways. I'd like to go hunt somewhere else just to see how different things are.
