man that is a question i dont think can be answered by any human. the only way youll be able to find out the answer to that is learning how to speak dog and see what they tell ya. makes me think of my recently passes barney. that son of a gun would litterally run passed all the sows without looking at em and find and bay the boar every time. good for me cause im hunting for sport and trophy, but he wouldnt have been worth a crap for someone hunting for meat.

Yeah bubba. The reason I made sure to let you know that I was commenting to you in only kindheatedness is because US good ole boys get our hearts broken a whole lot though life for being good ole boys. I've been in your shoes time and time again on things I've tried to be good to poeple on. I agree with halfbreed 100 percent and love ny dogs enough to where their are only a few poeple in this old world that would come before them. And from what I get from this post you seem similar. It up to us to make sure we don't hurt these poeple by doing something that will put us in jail for handling a peice of'shi* like that ol boy the only way us country folks do. Which involves some poteintally serious physical injury. Poeple nowadays don't just take'the a** whoopin they more than deserve and go about their bussiness. They press charges and the laws of this great country just ain't gonna see the fact that this ol boy deserved his beating for the crime he commeted. They will see you in the wrong no doubt. I know I used to overlook lil things in poeple like when we walked in a store and they would steal something small like the carmex. I looked at it like , Hell, just carmex what $1.29 or if they were trying to screw someone on something over the fun. Never fails, EVERYTIME when that person got off and convinced me he wouldn't ever do me that way cause were like brothers, everyonen of them ended upscrewin me insome way or another. And someone that will steal anything even if it seems small will steal from you. You just have to notice the smallest clues ad look for them all the time. Wish u best ofluck on your dog.

Man, I hate to be rude and I'm telling you this in 100% kindheartedness toward you. But there is only one person that you can blame for the situation your in. And you know who I'm talking about. Youd have better luck calling me and askin to borrow my ol lady for the weekend than one of my dogs that I'm gonna even blink an eye in disapointment if I didn't get it back. I d have one person that can come get a dog from my house any time he wnts and I can do the same. But he is also my best friend and I taught him not everything he knows about this stuff. But everything he uses when he hunts. This past year he had a few of my dogs with him when a lil male dog who I liked the most out of a litter I had that every dog in it was is a bad mofo, well we don't know what happened exactly but he's not in one of my kennels. But I can tell you that I have no doubt that he didn't pull any wishy washy bs and he gave all effort he possibly could to recover the dog. You'll learn the hard lesson of live that outside of family, you won't come across a whole that of poeple who are not out to get you. Go slap his head around a little cause he probably deserves it. But brother, don't forget who deserves the blame.

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Wind speed?
|
on: February 11, 2013, 02:02:07 am
|
Yes it is complex. Wind is by dogs or anything else,(I.e. deer, hogs, etc.)used to establish presence, determine direction, and measure distance. And in that exact order takes more skill from least to highest for animals to be good at. Its similar to the way someone uses a magnetic tracking system. Someone who has used one a long time can point you in a staight line to a dog and can be very accurate on how far they are away. Verses someone who is a begineer can point you in a round a bout direction with little confedence of if their right about that. To me, if a dog can actually find hogs winding they have to have tons of em under the ol belt and be sharply worked. Even then if put up for a few mnths would not be able to when started again. I'm talking about like finding em with a blindfold. At some point they have to start sighthuntin or take the track to find the hog. As a dog finds more hogs with wind they will start making staighter lines to where they need to be and be more confident on when it is time to downshift a gear ortwo and start lookng. They can get good enough to actually find blindfolded like this. You need a lil wind for them to do this. But there does come a point to where it can get confusing and a point to where it is unmanageable. The more it picks up the more it changes directions and the more it spreads asscent when it throws it. Think of someone smoking a cig, the smoke you see is exactly like a scent. In light wind you could follow a smoke cloud a short distance to the source. In a strong wind all you will be able to see is there is something making smoke. Maybe a general direction of where it coming,to get any idea of an exact direction you have to get real close. And then the distance doesn't matter cause your real close. And presence is a yes or no. In other words, if I had the best winddog in the world, I wouldn't expect much out of him in high wind.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Monster Teeth

On a serious note. I had a kid showin me some pics on his phone about a year ago and this artiicle brought the memory back. But he had some good hogs with good teeth but the best one by far he really showed off to me he said was a sow. She wasn't that caliber, but id put money on it that if you were to ask ten poeple with ten or more years expereince a peice, eight of them haven't caught a hog with the cutters she had. I would say that explains how pretty they are. They we never abused and broken fighting.
