HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: sulpher smell in well

My family has been in the water well biz for about 35 yrs and this is very common.. and easy and cheap to fix. The sulpher smell is most likely bacteria built up either in the well or in your lines. If u go to your well head and look at the well seal there should b a plug u can remove. Remove the plug and pour 5 to 10 gallons of straight bleach into the well casing. Open each faucet one at a time and let run until u smell bleach at the faucet. Do this at each and every faucet and let sit without using for 24-48 hours (if u can go that long without using the well) then open faucets after it has sit with bleach and let run for a while till bleach smell is completely gone. You should be good to go. Don't forget to open hot water faucets as well..

I have a really rough catahoula that is 6.. His joints swell after a hard hunt. I have been using phycox.. They are soft chewable tabs that are made for joint support. Seems to reduce his joint swelling.

If blood is red it most likely is from large intestine and could likely be whip worms. Most wormers don't treat whips. I've had a couple of my dogs get them. Easy to treat and get rid of with the right wormer. Fecal sample will tell.
