"I WILL HUNT THE DOGS FOR YOU IF YOU BUY THEM ALL. Will NOT hunt seperately or give trial. They are exactly what I say!! Don't waste your time asking."

If you can't prove your "FINISHED" dogs individually... then go peddle them somewhere else. Wink

Generally speaking they will go back to the average size of that line. If you go with the jagt that si out the window.

You don't think they will come out with anymore size then a jagd? Might he a no go then. Not looking for much just a little more muscle and leg behind the prey drive
4  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: have a question on: April 03, 2012, 02:28:05 am
Go back to the old food fast. I just lost four puppies. I thought parvo then worms and then ate something nasty. The last was right but it was the food. I went with cheap and the puppies died. The only good thing was that the puppies died and I let a vet look at the last puppy. He could not find any worms at all and without expensive tests he could only guess it was the food. So I threw out the rest before the adult dogs got sick but I found loose poop in the kennels when I came home with new food.

It may not be the food but don't wait just change back and keep looking to see if it is something else. I would shoot them up with antibiodics too. If they are throwing up take the water bowl away and start putting smaller amounts of water in their mouth 15-30 minutes apart depending on how hot it is. If they still throw up you need to inject water under the skin or get them on an IV. Reducing the amount of water at one time may help if they are dehydrated. When dehydrated if you drink too much you throw up and it is worse.

But you are there seeing what is going on. I do a treat everything approach but did not change the food. So I will now add throw all the food out and get new food when dogs start getting sick. Good luck

9  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Question about genetics? on: April 02, 2012, 02:56:02 pm
Well A buddy called and said I can have a couple cat/Bmc young dogs that are from my male dog. All are big males except for one gyp that is the runt and she is SMALL(16in the litter). I have enough prospects as is so I turned him down. We got to talking breeding and i looked at her...she has the blood and will spit in a hogs face all day long. My question is both parent were big and so are her siblings 60lbs+-, will she throw the same size in the genetics as her siblings. I know a male jag I can stud too for a small fee and have always wanted to try some crosses with a little more size....not that jagds need it Grin.

she's the right size for the breeding but I want to get some leg back. Anyone tried seething like this?

What tells you its dislocated? I had a rcd get knocked and his jaw broken. Took vet bills and two months in the kennel to get him going

I will be breeding to a trainers ridge dog. Can't take the chance with them all being open as this might be her last litter
15  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Trifexis on: March 23, 2012, 10:54:48 pm
Been using it for a while now, works great on thE fleas and worms, I have found a few ticks but that is it. All fleas will be dead or gone within 4hrs. You can smell it on them
16  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: What do y'all think? on: March 23, 2012, 12:11:07 am
I bet you get some silent dogs and some open ones out of it, that's been my experience when breeding a silent dog to an open one. Had a bird dog walker cross coon dog once, she would open when she first struck and then she would only bark treed'ed after that. If you like both dogs I'd try it JMO

Personally I'd breed to the bmc but I believe that open hounds is what is making our hogs run more these days. I could be wrong but that's just my opinion. I have always been partial to bmcs. I like how a hound will saty with them and get out further but everytiqme we take hounds we can't even get horses unloaded before they are 5 miles away...lol

The bluetick is my buddies. The open part is my biggest complaint about hounds, but it is true that it's hard to match the nose and hunt that comes with them. I can deal with yipping on hot track a little or after it breaks if they find hogs. But not five miles away

Might be open but if you don't mind it then try it. One way of thinking is to not hunt your breeding dogs. If they are throwing good pups keep them back so you always have good dogs.

- you may be right. I have thought about retiring her as she already runs free around my front yard, just can't seem to leave her behind

18  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / What do y'all think? on: March 22, 2012, 02:29:01 pm
My gypsy dog(1/2blackmouth 1/4cat 1/4)is about to come into heat and I want to get a second litter out of her. I have bred her once to my buddies male cat and they all are turning into dogs. I passed up on her last heat so she could get back in the woods but she is getting older and starting to get really catchy. I want one more litter out of her but would like to mix some of that hound nose into her instead of breeding to my male bmc. Got a male really rough bluetick with a pretty tight mouth and was thinking of making the cross which would make the pups 1/2bluetick 1/4bmc 1/8cat 1/8dogo. What do y'all think??

Sounds good to me! She sure has gotten catchy. Trying to figure out the new camera, she is the yellow dog caught in the video.it's hard to tell. My buddy isn't much of a camera man. I Would like to get some more pups out of her and she is coming in again.Thinking about crossing her with my buddies gritty bluetick. What do you think?
