HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Catch & Release: Pros and Cons
|
on: June 30, 2014, 12:17:31 pm

I may be a little behind but as afar as previously caught hogs running harder is concerned, I believe that is more the exception than the rule. I've been to a bay with roughly twenty hogs, and 3/4 of those hogs wearing a mark. We tied three in a short manner and went to the house letting the rest walk. According to the given idea of how that works none of those hogs would have bayed, much less let 3 out if the pack within 100 yards of the original bay. How hogs act on a property is dependent on the dogs and people hunting them.
And on another note just how much Russian are people under the influence there is in hogs? I wouldn't think there would be anything near what it is portrayed to be. But that's just my .02 for what it matters

I don't give a damn how many k's you have a dog cant read no trespass signs or knows any better than crossing fences you will wind up in the wrong place if you have good dogs doesn't mean your wrong for going and getting your dogs if they are doing what they are trained to do!!!!
You are part of the problem. X2 If you know you have long dogs or dogs with bottom and put them on a property that is evident is too small to run them on than, it's not the dogs fault it's the owners, dogs absolutely do not read no trespassing signs and that's why we have to be held responsible for the positions we put them in, A dog that truly hunts it's backside of doesn't need to be on a small property surrounded by places it cannot be. It is all the same to thr dog but the owner should know better. This thread is a subject the probably shouldn't have been brought up in the public Common sense isn't so common From the responses on this thread I believe it has for the most part shown we respect the neighbors. It also shows the up and comers the proper way to do things. Shotgun Arkansas Absolutely, it is Definently good that if wandering eyes cane to this thread that 90% of response entail getting permission or in some fashion showing respect landowners to lighten our image. And Definently good for younger or just new hunters to see an example of character to go by. But on the same note it is something everyone who hunts has to do at one point or another and ranks right along with culling in my opinion when it comes to being appropriate for the internet or not, ya know what I'm saying? But that is just my .02 cents.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Rocky's feed and supply reopens
|
on: November 07, 2013, 07:01:11 pm
|
Under new management by Ricky and Sharon Pate opens tomorrow under a new name R&S feed and supply. Rocky and Sandra the original owners will be helping them get up and running. They will carry many the same feeds as before including sportmix. They currently have a stock of leads, collars and gear. Go pay them a visit. And since I'm sure you are going to ask Reuben they will start carrying the 8 and 1 vaccines with carona if enough people come and request them. They are good people and are going to try and run the business like my grandparents did. They are on 36 north of Brazoria by the golf course

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Long Range Rough Dogs

Sounds like they hunt good. Idk how you prefer your dogs but maybe trying to back some of the rough of instead of the range would be the better route. IF it is even doable. Maybe a muzzle, rank hog, and baypen time would make them back off. I've never tried it to know if it would work. Just a thought.
