1  HOG & DOGS / HOG HUNTING CONTESTS / Re: Hunting Contest Date Conflicts... on: January 07, 2012, 11:13:53 am
Thanks for the kind words guys.  We have asked Los Cazadores to send a representative with our team to witness the hunt with us - to put an end to all this bickering.  Just like you all know, when you happen to do well in anything, you end up in the spotlight.  We are not the only good hog team in this contest.  There are lots of great teams and good people to meet.  We have just been fortunate to do well and have a little luck on our side when we needed it.  Hope to meet more of you doggers there.  We'll see what happens.  Matthew McWilliams w/ Team Barefoot

3  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: los cazadores results? on: April 15, 2011, 10:04:46 pm
Yes, Barefoot Bob is one heck of a man and a heck of a hog hunter.  I know this for a fact because he is my best friend and hunting partner.  His real name is Bob Richardson.  He's been hunting hogs with dogs before it was ever popular.  I was lead to this website searching for results and pictures of the Marranos Muertos contest.  I was surprised to see all the rumors flying around about the contest.  Bob and I have hunted this contest for the last three years.  Our team has hunted our butts off to do as well as we've done.  The ranch we hunt is north of Abilene, not anywhere near Alpine.  It is 10,000 acres+, all low-fenced.  Every hog we have ever brought into a contest is caught with dogs.  To straighten up a so-called "protest" at this year's contest.....
It was brought to our attention from ONE of the other teams.  They said our hogs weren't chewed-up enough to be caught with dogs.  One of the Los Cazadores owners politely asked if it would be okay with us if one of the team members that was complaining could skin our hogs to look for bullet holes. We gladly told him to go ahead.  One of the members started to skin one of the heads of one hog.  He skinned it about four inches and gave up.  That was the end of that.
The weight that we won it with this year was 722 lbs.  Last year this weight wouldn't have been close to winning.

We are just hard-core hog hunters that love to hunt.  Next time you see us, come say hello.  I'll be the one standing next to the guy that's barefoot.
