I like it, something else I would like to see on there and the classifieds, is where the seller is located. Some people do this but most dont. I guess you could look up their phone number and figure out where they live but it would be a lot easier if they would say for example " located in Benton La just out side of Bossier City". Or x amount of minutes or miles " North of Dallas" I think that would save the seller a little time and head ache also, answering calls and folks saying where are you located, oh never mind thats to far. Just my .02

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: lacy

They are a mix of coyote hound and grey hound back in the 1800s. They were started and bread by the lacy brothers in the hill country to heard hogs to sale. They wanted a go all day every day dog that had enough grit to make other animals reconise them but not catch. It is debated on what hound was use my opinion is some type of redbone but that is what I think there is no written info other than hound.
Thanks, That head is what made me think it might of had some grey hound in it.

No need to jump your case, I wouldn't recognize one either. Only seen one in person
that seems to be a pretty popular breed around here from what Ive seen. For some reason I had it in my head that a Lacy had something to do with a pit. I was looking around on here a few minutes ago and seen a pic of one. It looked like it had some cur mixed with a lil grey hound but couldnt quite tell from the pic I was looking at. Im pretty sure Im wrong again though.

Hey I would like to thank yall for all the welcomes. A feller can read till he is blue in the face, and pretty much never read the same story twice. I have seen a lot of good looking dogs and hogs on here. Boy I cant wait till we get in the new place and get some dog and hog pens set up.

Welcome aboard cody. My suggestion to you is not to get any dogs just yet.. Find some folks to go with and get started that way.. Chances are youll aquire a couple dogs from people you hunt with to get you started, and its easier that way to elarn from other's mistakes.. RCD means running catch dog. A rough dog is one that will try and catch or just generally get rough with a hog, not just stand back and bay
Im not in a big hurry just yet on getting the dogs. We are still waiting to close on the new place, once we do that then I can get some pens built overthere. Im hoping in the mean time I will be able to find some people in this area to hunt with. I grew up in central La. and used to hog hunt with some folks I grew up with down there but thats 2.5 hours one way.

Welcome Cody. How old are ya and what kinda dog huntin have you done in your past?
Im 27, squirrel dogs, deer dogs, a few fox and yote hounds. For about the last eight or nine years my work hasnt really let me sit still very long so between long and weird hours and moving from place to place renting I didnt have time or a place to mess with dogs. Now we have just bought a place in Benton La. just outside of Bossier and Shreveport I have a place to keep them and a little bit of land to mess with them. So now I hope to maybe find me a dog or two to get started with. Im sure I will wear yall out with the questions.lol.
