1  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Couple Barr hogs on: March 14, 2017, 07:53:17 am
Since I let y'all use Ruby that day, and she found them, how much sausage do I get out of this? Grin Grin Grin

I've caught skinned, quartered, and dropped off big barrs at the processor for you for the last couple years. The last one I delivered the sausage to your house! You think these will be any different?
2  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Dayton tx barr hog on: June 10, 2014, 10:01:10 pm
Appreciate it gentlemen. Both of this hogs ears were v-notched.

Like this?

If so y'all need to put some heat on those hogs and send them back north!
3  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Garmin alpha question. on: April 20, 2014, 10:42:33 pm
I think I read on here before that you can lock your Id number on your collars to the system. How do you do this if it can be done.

Good looking set of dogs.

Did you end up keeping the bitch in the fourth pic? I talked with you awhile back when you were talking about getting rid of her.
6  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Open cur dogs on: January 11, 2014, 03:10:34 pm
I hunted one gyp for for a long time. Caught more hogs with just her than I do now with a whole pack of dogs and she was open. After she got killed I read up on a bunch of silent curs and had it stuck in my head that I was going to start back with all silent curs. Drove all over several states buying pups off silent lines that were supposed to be the real deal. After I saw the lack of hunt and bottom, I'm back to feeding these open east texas cur dogs.
7  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Looking for good place to get collars and leads on: January 01, 2014, 07:29:00 pm
Mike Kelly's place is right down 945.. About 20 mins out of Cleveland .. He sells collars leads cut vest cut collars the whole 9 yards

Mike Kelly's name tags suck now that he's got that new machine. Can't hardly see what's engraved in them. He needs his old manual machine back.
8  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Buddy Dunlap , oklahoma on: September 16, 2013, 05:55:10 pm
He might have a good dog there but make his old ass show the dog that day. He's a dog peddler and will lie to you. Made the trip up there to look at a dog a few years back. He said he was selling out. Got there and he came up with every excuse in the book on why he couldn't show the dog hunt and gave me a trial. I took the dog back, and he was selling out alright. Every dog he had the first time I was there was gone and new dogs were standing on their chains. He did give me my 1000$ back though...
9  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Kinda funny really. on: August 29, 2013, 09:19:15 pm
Well Kevin I guess I've never seen a real hog dog out of the hundreds and hundreds of dogs I've hunted behind.

I can promise you one thing... if a hog wants to run... he's damn sure gonna do it. And wreck everything trying to stop him.

I don't have a clue what you've seen or haven't seen.

Again...your wrong..."if a hog wants to run its gonna run"...think about it....EVERY hog WANTS to run. Most just get their minds changed by the dogs. The biggest, meanest and the ones with the ivory are the ones that usually succeed. If YOUR dogs can't stop a 250lb sow or 250lb boar with not much in the area of cutters...well...your dogs aren't for me. Don't make em bad dogs...HELL...I KNOW they're still better than what I have right now, lol. But...like you, I do have expectations and goals and in the end I DON'T WANT dogs like that.

As far as where these dogs are at...the dogs of my recollection are long gone and the gentleman that owned them...well...i talked to him not long ago. We discussed running hogs and whether they were as bad back in the late 90's as they are now. We both thought the same...it had more to do with the dogs than anything else. I asked him if he had any of that blood left and he said no...he had bred it out of them because he was tired of sewing them up. He also said he didn't realize what he had when he had it and he wishes he still had it. Sound familiar Jimmy  Grin Anyway...i don't have any in my yard for sure...but there are some out there. The term "bay buster" comes to mind...I know that's what some of you would say...but I assure you...put two or three "bay busters" together and the bay don't hardly bust. Again...let me make it clear...I ain't talkin about catchy dogs...just gritty as hell bay dogs. Anyway...that's what I'm shootin for....that'll suite me fine.

Hogs have changed, if they didnt they'd be extinct. Every one hates these Russian influenced running hogs but if it weren't for them we'd have nothing to hunt. If hogs would bay up in big wads like they used to when I was a kid, there would not be any left because every Tom dick and Harry wants to kill them.
And yes I agree there are dogs that can stop hogs better than others, there are dogs that can keep hogs bayed that other dogs can't  but a HOG DOG will do every thing in is power to get one stopped and bayed but if it can't do it, it will run the hog till it can't physically go any further and they wil be bayed when you get there.

Tony the vet told me I can pick her up this evening. She should be back in the in a couple of weeks.

12  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / BA-IV in tx. on: July 14, 2013, 02:10:35 pm
Ben came down and stayed the weekend with me to get our dogs branded and get a few hunts in. We had plans to get the dogs branded early sat. morning so I found a place to hunt close to home fri. night. I figured it'd be a quick run because my buddy knew where the hogs were coming from and he also thought he knew where they were bedded. I was a quick hunt dogs were caught on a crippled/club footed boar hog, less than 20 mins after turning loose but we had to stay at the vet all night.

We got the dogs branded and them headed to my lease where bens puppy (Cobb) staggered up on this boar hog that was squatted in a bad a$$ thicket.
13  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Early Morning Run on: June 19, 2013, 04:20:54 pm
I guess I should have said good hunt or something like that so every one didnt think I was just busting his balls but i've had a lot of dogs that I've screwed up by picking them up every time they come out to a truck buggy or four wheeler. They don't know they did wrong if you don't correct it.
14  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Early Morning Run on: June 19, 2013, 11:17:22 am
Jmo but the worst thing you could have done is pick that dog up and carried him to the other dog. I'd have tore his a$$ up and sent him back hunting or I'd have snapped in the truck and not let him out the rest of the hunt.
15  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: It's HOT In The Pines! on: June 17, 2013, 09:42:31 am

16  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Hog cut to person on: June 09, 2013, 02:11:25 pm

I got bit loading a sow on a four wheeler. The pic is the night it happened.  Finally went to the dr 3 days later when it turned black and had dark green puss coming out of it. Took forever to heal.
17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Garmin DC-50? on: May 21, 2013, 11:42:45 am
I bought one last week but haven't used it yet. What ever dog I put it on will be double collared. It looks a little to nigger rigged for me to trust the first time out with out another collar.
18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Garmin DC-50? on: May 21, 2013, 11:26:30 am
So they'll pretty much be like the modified 40s that du sells?
19  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: why give a trial on: May 21, 2013, 09:20:03 am
So you did sell gabby? Why'd you give me a bullshlt story that you decided to keep her when I was supposed to be coming to look at her the next day. Was it you had some one there with cash in hand or did you talk her up a little too much, knowing she couldn't do what you told me. Don't really matter now, I just like being lied too.
