is there anyway to get your dogs to hunt on out to 3 or 4 hundred yards ,i had to start hunting from a utv because of a wreck and now my dogs want to stay 20 to 50 yards, any help

i wouldent mind if it was off a few yards but if the dog is out 400 yards its off around 100 yards, i dont know how many times ive recalbrated this thing, people ore starting to think ive lost it when they look over and im standing there going in circles.

whats the best way to set the compas true or mag. north mine is on true and it wont stay set, its always off a few degrees

i know there are alot of other breeds out there that are good, these seem to be the top three around here, just wanting to know what other people thought.
