HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / East Texas to Alabama. Dog needs a ride
|
on: June 09, 2016, 02:01:04 pm
|
Buddy of me in Alabama is buying a catch dog from me and I was trying to help him find a hauler or someone that could give him a ride for cheap. Dog has zero aggression issues and is very healthy, 18 months old male. Any info would be very helpful on haulers. Northern of us can make the trip because of making up he's at work from all this rain recently. Thanks in advance

The male I have from Myles is straight catch and will catch and hold like a champ. Still haven't heard him bay a hog. He has caught on solo hints where I just took him and caught by himself with other dogs in the woods too. Tried to upload a pic but it's too large smh

I do miss having a finished go getter to show the young ones the ropes but it's coming along good without. Just a lot more work on my part. Got spoiled with my old gyp being able to teach em on hunts.

Haha yeh I tell mine all the time he better act right. I tell everyone him and my gyp (different bloodline) aren't going anywhere. And if the male doesn't act like he was bred to, he's going to YBM yard with the school of hard knocks haha

Not hard to tell when it's just a stray or lost, but when it's feral you can tell quick. This dog wanted to eat me up as soon as he seen me. No way I was opening the trap door. I've seen coyotes that didn't even act nearly as mean as that dog.

Hunted for a while the other night with no signs what so ever and my young male ran across three coons haha. Guess this doesn't count but my coon hunting buddy was sure happy lol. I was happy that it took little correction to get the dogs hunting again these trees were about ten foot apart so I figured the coons were hanging out together and the male just ran up on them.

For those who drag em out. If you face the hogs head the way your pulling it makes life easier ha. Me and buddies have drug hogs a lot just to get them close enough for a truck or wheeler. Even drug a few almost a mile:(. Lots of cussing and grunting haha
