10 HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Hog with no ears on: February 23, 2016, 04:41:56 pm
Saturday started out pretty slow. Dogs went 5.75 miles and not even a whimper. Finally got a pretty good bay. Almost to them and the cur dogs caught. Tied and the dogs rolled out. 400 yards away and another caught hog. Dogs left again and showed treed 850 yards away. Got close and Ike and Tater hand the hog Bayed in a pine top. Turned Dually (straight catch cur) loose. This dog is real deal on the ear 100%. The hog broke when Dually hit. The dogs took this hog 1.8 miles. Finally got him stopped in a pine thicket. Turned 2 bulldogs loose and had him caught. While we were getting hun tied we noticed he had been cut and had no ears. Finally made sense why Dually missed. [/url]

Good deal! So glad deer season is finally over. You know if y'all don't start turning out any size these boys will start doubting y'alls reputation .

That 22-250 is a bad a$$ round! I have shot a lot of different guns and calibers and my CZ 550 chambered in 22-250 is by far my favorite. Congrats!!
15 HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: What are you keeping and feeding right now? on: November 21, 2015, 06:30:54 am
Ketch is 3/4 pit & 1/4 Dogo. He weighs about 85#. Coming up on 4 yrs. We thought we were going to have to retire him. We caught a big boar right before summer & he cut his right frt. pad in two, severing the tendon & on the back right leg, the boar bit him doing nerve damage. His back leg flops over now. We did use him today on a big sow & he manhandled her pretty easy. I will have to get a boot for the back foot however.

We had a bulldog we called Colonel that got hamstrung too. The vet amputated his right rear leg and after he healed he still had the heart, just not the speed. It was cool to watch a 3 legged bulldog.

Hell of a hunt. Sure wish i could have been in on those 21. But duty calls. Heard they all out of wack with that river being up. That's where they usually head.
