I haven't been on here in a good 6 months or more...just been busy with work and a new baby...anyway young dogs have been doing good and helping my main dog out.  Had buzz bay up 450 from us and all the dogs got in there. It was really cool being able to watch them work this hog. Wish I had video... This boar tried to break and run when my buzz dog cut in front of him and Kingston spun him around. About that time chomper slammed down on an ear with all the dogs piling on after.  Proud of my mutts and hope they can continue to improve throughout 2016.   Dogs on this hunt were buzz, Wendy, Kingston, jack, and chomper. Kingston and jack are two sons out of buzz from different females.  I'll get pics of dogs next time had to get out of woods fast cause he cut buzz pretty bad but he should be good to go in a month or so.   It's crazy how big and strong these things can get.

No big hogs or anything but had a real good time the other night. I went out with my buddies dale and Jordan and we ended up catching 6 or 7 hogs. Dogs were doing some real  real good work.  Got on a group of 10 to 15 hogs in a wide open field once the Bulldogs got cut loose they scattered and we were jumping over hogs jumping  to the side trying to avoid getting hit by any of the hogs.  It was pretty eventful.  It was hot so we finally  caught all the dogs up and headed home.

Yea that's buzz. It's a pic from a month or two ago I just figured I'd put it on here cause I didn't  have any of the dogs this trip.

About 10 o clock Saturday I finally got the ok to hunt this place about 10 minutes from the house so decided we would load up and try it out. Took my buzz dog, Kingston buzz son and jack another son of buzz out of a different female. And Wendy and Chomper for catch dogs. Finally get dogs dropped and about 10 minutes buzz goes 120 yards and bays up cut Chomper caught hog.  Go over to the wheat field a mile down the road and walk to a tank at the back of the place. Buzz goes 200 and bays up and Kingston gets there. Had a group bayed up and they were rallying so loud you could hardly hear the dogs barking. Cut Chomper and they broke before he got there. Buzz and Kingston go 460 and are bayed trying to call Chomper back when I hear his nasty bulldog yelp while he's running about 10 yelps and a squeal it's the 5th or 6th time a bay has busted an he goes an catches his own hog.  Crawled about 100 yards through some thick thick briars trying to get to buzz and Chomper and after 30 minutes of that I just called them in. Took a good bit for them to finally quit but I started playing a hog squeal video and they finally came in.    Trying to go home cause it's bout 3 in the morning when buzz goes 540 and hammers down. This was jacks first hunt and the first three bays he would just ease in there in front of us and smell around acting kinda skittish. The two times I threw him in a pen with one he'd lay down scared and try to crawl out. I look down and see buzz treed 500 and jack showing treed 500 as well got everyone quiet and he was in there howling his head off. Haha. Kinda funny but gonna keep taking him and see what he does. Good time as always got three people on there first hog with dogs.

Thanks and yea not the hog bleeding.  I think we had swapped 10 dogs in and out over those two days and all but two got some kinda poke or small cut. Nothing bad though.

Couple weeks ago I got a late start and had loaded up buzz his son Kingston and Chomper. Dropped dogs at 8 they go 250 and hammer down within 5 minutes. Get within 100 yards and can smell him get about 30 yards and can see the dogs baying right in his face hogs back was a good foot taller than the dogs an I can hear him chomping his teeth. As I cut Chomper loose I look up and see the hog break and take off. Try to call Chomper back but that ain't happening so head there direction. I hear a squeal and look at my garmin and it shows Chomper treed 170 and buzz and Kingston running 380 time we get to Chomper buzz and Kingston showed up to the squealing hog. I was mad they didn't stay on thy big hog at first but glad cause they were way to close to the highway for my liking.  We get back to the truck by 8:30 and try the other side of the place and me and jo are trying to not get out feet wet and find a shallow spot to cross a creek when I see buzz and Kingston were both bayed. Separately. Got to buzz and Kingston came off his hog to buzzs. He's still young so I'm hoping he will learn to stay with his own androgynous once he builds more confidence. We were loaded up headed home by 10.

 


Buzz is the catahoula and dad to Kingston the brindle dog. Kingston gets the brindle from his mom which was my buddy Jordan's gyp big momma. Big momma played a big role in showing buzz what to do and now Kingston is following buzz around so hopefully buzz can show him what to do.








I tried getting in close for some video on the second hog and he saw us and tried to break and that mark is from Kingston putting teeth on him to spin him around. About that time Chomper swallowed an ear. And I still didn't get any video. Lol

About a month or so ago myself, dale, Jordan,Rodger got together and all brought some dogs. We wound up catching 11 good hogs over 100 lbs and dogs killed several more piglets and small hogs. Good time with good people and good dog work.

That's gonna be a sweet mount. 

Went out last night to KevinN place with Logan LTcaughthog. Had a good time. About to load dogs up an try the last side of the place when Millie and my little brothers pup ran a boar hog in the pasture a couple hundred yards behind us.  Thankfully they got it stopped before it hit the woods or river. Dumped the Bulldogs and they had him stretched out. Went to hunt the other side and had I believe 3 bays going at once. Real thick crap got within 75 yards of one bay and turned Bulldogs loose and hog broke before they got there. Dogs were hunting good but we all had work the next day so called em  in and caught them up.  Good times as always. Kevin an Logan will have to post pics they have up I only have a few.

Thanks everyone it was a good time for sure...  Amokabs that gator isn't mine but seems to get the job done just fine. My father in law had a camo quad cab diesel gator and it's super nice.

Went out Saturday with my buddies Jordan and Rodger and Rodgers grandson CJ. We dropped dogs around 7:30 and by 11 we finally caught all the dogs up cause it was getting warm and they were all tired but wouldn't stop. This place was full of hogs and we knocked a good dent in them. I think we ended up with 3 around 5 lbs one around 20lbs.  And the rest were 100 lbs and up. A nice spotted boar that was maybe 220 to 250 and the biggest was a sow that weighed in at 278lbs. Wound up with catching 15 in all. All five dogs we had on the ground were working real good finding and stopping hogs. Both catch dogs got plenty of work in and were ready to everytime they heard a bay. Good times as always.

I have hunted with a buddy that has a catchdog with either one and a half canines or just half of one and you turn him loose he will be locked down when you get there. 

Nice hogs and dogs. I sure like the head of that dog in the first pic. I bet it's work dragging a hog up them rocky hills.

Went out tonight with KevinN and LTcaughthog. Dogs were doing real good. Walked em down a fence line buzz is Maybe 100 to 150. Bays up flocka gets in there and they both are barking for a good 30 seconds or so then it breaks and they take it a ways and finally  end up coming back. Get in the truck and road them down the tree line. Buzz goes 630 and bays up try to drive around to him and once we drive around garmin shows 250 no barking anymore? Then he came back in. Head on down the road some more dogs are out 500 plus then flocka comes flying across about 200 in front of us or so and runs this ugly sucker into the creek. Wish I had video got to see Chomper swim right up to him an lock down. Logan's 5 month old pup PJ first time to the woods we drop the tailgate he shoots out 400 yards. He did real good stayed out with the big dogs and was in there at the bay hammering down.

Went out last night with KevinN and LTcaughthog. We had two or three guys that had never been on a hog before. It was a good time as always.
