It's not as rare as a person would think... I have had this happen with my dogs but the other way around... My dogs are pure Parkers which are primarily black or brindle. there has been 2 breedings and both times I got 3 yella outta 9 pups. This is pretty rare, so to insure they were indeed pure parkers I had DNA testing done the first time it happened.

I do not own one, but from the research I've done Id go with the Honda Pioneer... The main thing that attracts me to the Pioneer is the transmission and drive shafts. The Ranger & Rhino both have drive belts. My hunting partner has a Ranger and it seems he's replacing the belt every 6 months or so... If memory serves me correct, the Pioneer is a little wider than the Ranger...

I think y'all are reading ole muddogkennels post wrong... The guy never said he caught a hog every time out (100%), he said if he hunted 100 times throughout a year the dog could strike 100 hogs. My guess is several fellas from this site could claim that (not me tho). The dog might strike 5 hogs in one hunt, and strike out the next 2 hunts...

Here's one that I slapped together... To keep it from rolling, I attached a 2 X 6 that was cut to fit the roundness of the barrel & I attached the 2x6 to the barrel using 2" lag screws. I also drilled about 10 1/4" holes in the bottom on the barrel for drainage in case water did get in the barrel.

Lacyman, does the unit you own have a transmission or belts? The main thing that is attracting me to the pioneer or the big red is the transmission/drive shaft and no belts... I don't know how long the units with the transmission have been on the market.
How quiet/loud is your unit compared to a Ranger?
Thx!

Just curious if anyone owns one, and if so what their opinion is of them??
How quiet/loud are they compared to a Ranger? How do you like the transmission and no belts?
Any info appreciated.

I'd look towards Newark or Rhome (kinda NW), or you could go out west past Weatherford... I will say I35 can be pretty bad, but I20 out to the west is not as bad. I couldn't tell you about price. There's an RV park on the west side of Weatherford that might be pretty affordable. You could also look out hwy 377 around Whiskey Flats (Wheatland on a map)...
By looking at a map you'll think Azle/Springtown would be OK. But I would advise against anywhere on hwy 199. Bad traffic to say the least.

there is some netting stuff you can put around your house and it will catch/trap the snake... kinda works like a gill net for fishing. I think its called snake fence. Only problem is it traps the snake and your dogs can still get bit until it dies...

I keep my cur dogs penned together, males in one pen and gyps in another. I have a gyp that inhales her food as fast as possible, then goes and pushes the smaller gyps off their food bowls. if I stand out by the pen she wont do it and everything is OK, but as soon as I turn my back and walk towards the house she would start on the smaller dogs. I got tired of this, and now I just put her on a chain where she can reach her food bowl and water...I wait 30 minutes or so then go back out and release her...

All 3 of them (cops & the dog owner) were in the wrong in my opinion. the dog owner was more than likely running his mouth, because there were at least 3 people videoing and he was the only one they messed with. regardless of what the dog owner was saying (unless he was threatening them) he should not have been placed in handcuffs right off the bat. bottom line is, if you'll treat the "law" with respect - most times they'll treat you with respect...

U might consider using the "retreads" off of a semi truck tire... A tire shop would probably give old used ones away, or cruise the interstate and you'll find'em sitting on the side of the road. If the dogs start chewing them, I'm pretty sure they'll stop when they reach the metal treads inside the rubber... Cut'em to length using a reciprocating saw...

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Question for trash breaking???

the dogs are a year old, and both have been in a baypen a couple of times... My thought was to hobble a hog & stake it out on the back of the place and walk the dogs around and let them be exposed to all the different animals on the farm & "correct" when needed.
start out close to the hog, and then work towards the "trash"...
