3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Started Lacy male. Gritty. on: April 22, 2013, 03:47:26 pm
Selling for a friend. He's selling out his dogs.

This was a pup from a litter born in June 2012 to my Lacy stud and my blockier built female.  She's square-headed and stocky.  The dogs from this pairing are usually bigger built dogs, and gritty.  This pup is between 45-50 lbs and not yet a year old.

Sire is my blood tracking dog.  He will find and bay hogs himself.  The dam is a bang-up bay dog.

This dog has been started on hogs, will bay and gets gritty.

Pic of the dog for sale:

I don't have a picture of the dam on my computer.

I'm located in Childress, TX.  I realize that's a long way from most of you guys, but if I sell all three pups, depending on where buyers are located, I'm willing to arrange a convenient meeting place for all parties involved.

5  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Full Blood Lacy Pups For Sale----REVISED AD on: October 16, 2012, 10:36:47 am
I still have pups available.  I've had a lot of calls but travel distance is a hindrance for buyers due to my location.  If I get enough pups sold down south, I am willing to transport pups to a meeting place that will be more convenient to all parties involved.  Call or text the number below.  I can't brag enough on the working ability and focus of these dogs.

Pups Born 8/28/2012.  Sire is National Lacy Dog Association registered, used as a blood tracking dog, but also hunts hogs, is silent on track and will bay hogs of all sizes on his own.  Also trees bobcats, coons, and whatever else can climb a tree.  He's the best all-around dog I've owned.  Dam is not yet registered but is eligible for registration.  She's silent on track and will bay.  She works almost like a Border Collie on game, carrying her front end low and giving 'the stare'.  Sire is medium-large for a Lacy, dam is medium-small.  My dogs are friendly and are not aggressive to humans.

These pups are healthy, active and in to everything.  I've handled them every day since they were born and they are well socialized with other dogs and people.  There isn't a bad or timid pup in the lot.  They've been on a high-protein, solid food diet since 4 weeks.  They've had first shots and been wormed.

5 males, 3 females available.  $200 each.  Located in Childress, TX.  Text or call 940-585-7898 or email kevin_hackler@yahoo.com

As you can imagine, pups are difficult to take photographs of, but here are a few pics:

I have two pups from a litter born 6.21.12.  Both are blue.  Sire (Loco) is NLDA registered.  Dam (JoJo) is from TLGDA parents, but not registered.  Pups are not registered.  They have first shots and are wormed.

Sire is mainly a blood tracking dog, but will find and bay hogs on his own and is silent on track.  He also trees bobcats and raccoons, can catch coyotes, herds livestock, and finds and bays rattlesnakes.  Dam is mainly a house dog, but will bay hogs and backs up my male on whatever he's doing.

Both Sire and Dam are very intelligent.  Pups have shown great promise with their noses.  I do not have a bay pen so pups have not been on pigs yet.

Blue Lacy pups for sale.  Two females and one male.  Born 6.21.12.  Sire is NLDA registered.  I use him primarily for blood tracking but he will find and bay hogs on his own.  Dam is from TLGDA registered stock, but has not been registered (prior owner cannot locate registration paperwork).  Some of the dam's litter mates are police and border patrol drug dogs.  Both my dogs are very intelligent, have terrific noses and strong prey drive.  Dam is medium-sized, Sire is medium-large.

Pups are unregistered.  They have been on a high-protein diet since 3-4 weeks, are well socialized, wormed and have first shots.

$250 each.  Ready to go right now.  Located in Childress, TX.

Another male from the same litter may be available if not picked up soon.

Photos of pups and parents are available.

I can vouch for BarM too.  I've got one of the littermates to that pup and he's doing great.  My pup has a hell of a nose on him.  I enjoyed getting down there and seeing his operation.  You can tell he really takes pride in his dogs.

16  GENERAL CATEGORY / HUNTING AND FISHING / Re: Panhandle Mulies...looking for tips on: February 10, 2009, 02:42:49 pm
This is an old thread, but I thought I'd try to help with a response.  I'm in Childress County so I'm not too far from Potter.  I've had a few mulies on my property, so I've got a little experience with them, however, Whitetails are my favorite.  As far as rattling, I've never had a Mulie respond, or even act interested.  Spot and stalk is gonna be your best bet with a Mulie, especially if your focus is canyons/draws.  I wouldn't have a clue about a decoy for Mulies...matter of fact, the way I've gotten closest to them is in a vehicle...you almost have to shoo them out of the way.  As far as Whitetails, my experience has been that they start responding to rattling during the first week of November and intensity steadlily increases to about the second week.  The rut seems to occur around mid-November in my area.  Try rattling mixed with a buck growl or roar call and if you attract a buck that's in the right frame of mind, be ready for some fun!
