THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 3 male pups guaranteed
|

3 male puppies 1200 apiece, if they are not finding their own hogs by October bring it back for full refund. Old family stock cur dogs, silent, long range(from where you put them out up to 1000y consistent), fast(9to12mph running)(4to6hunting), natural roll over, medium bay, will stay bayed all day (12 to 24 hours), most will take a cold track some will wind from box. Briars and water doesn't bother them. If that doesn't answer most of your questions about what they or out of I will try but don't know if I can tell you much more. 9033934017 9033933049 clevejevans@live.com

T-dog The first half of my life all the country were I lived was about 90% open because the cow kept all the under brush eat out. Even though I wished we still had that way of life, since it's gone it's taught me a few things. 1 is regardless thick coat or not, I don't need a Garmin to tell me if a dog is hustling to find a hog or if they are trying to get to a hog (actually catch up to it and stop it) that's running. A lot of times the first time I hunt with somebody they will ask if my dog's have some kind of mange. Before I answer I ask is it thick where you hunt, then I say no it's from the briars. Key places is over their eyes, down the center of the front legs, ears and some on the tail. A slick haired dog is not as noticeable but it's there if they are doing it.

Cajun where he hunts is partially cut over and partially open river bottom. My ole family dogs can do 13 in the river bottom and keep it all day but I'm the cut over their best is holding a 10 for several hours. But that dog he got from you beats them on speed, the reason I'm asking about the rest of your dogs and their speed is because I was thinking pretty heavy about breeding one of my tight bred gyps to him and keeping the quietest ones, but if he is a one of a kind then I may not.

Hey Cajun, it's been a while. Good hog and yeah I hate for a good dog to stroke out like you say they never usually the same. Few years ago a buddy wanted a plot puppy I sent him to you, he runs 10 to 13 pretty consistent does most all your dogs hold that kind of speed.

Black gyp coming 6 year old in June 2024. Out of family dogs, I hunted her until she was 15 months old she was finding and staying with hogs by herself. I had her brother, her sister and I had gave my hunting buddy a brother and sister to her, so I put her up for a brood gyp. Long story short she never came in, I've hunted her 4 or 5 times a year since then she's still a hog dog and always will be. Only down side is she will still bump a little trash not bad at all but I wanted that out there. She's not rough but is probably the roughest dog on my place. Hunts hard from 100 yards to wherever all business, silent fair at stopping a hog will stay bayed long as you want. If you put to many dogs with her she's catch out. I'll give references but please not a thousand questions and I don't do pictures they don't make a dog do any better in the woods. 2,500$ 903-393-4017 clevejevans@live.com

My idea of a good hunt is about the same as your shotgun, I'm with NLA on the number of dogs 1 for certain hogs, a pair or a pair and a young dog. I was raised to have and hunt 3 dogs and have a pup at home. But those 3 done everything but wouldn't put a mouth on one unless you told them to, I only remember maybe one or two that grandpa ever let live that he had to muzzle. But the couple he did as soon as you said there name they would come straight to you because they knew the muzzle was coming off. Ok back on subject my favorite hog to catch (if I don't need anymore meat) is a 80 to 100 pound boar cut him bob his tail a little over hand width, spray a little pb blast on any dog bites and cuts then send him in his way, throw the nuts to the dogs. My only thing is that if I'm ready to go and I don't hoop, holler and beep collars I want get out of the woods until God know when. Now I'm not complaining about that but sometimes they do make me wish I had some of them 30 min dogs.

So I’m a stickler for seeing things for myself and not relying on what someone else thinks they see or saw. Now and then we get the opportunity to get some decent video of dogs working. I love to watch it like it’s game film. I’ll slow motion it backwards and forwards, forwards and backwards to see how and why things happened, good or bad, the way they did. It has taught me a good bit about individual dogs and dogs as a whole, heck hogs too as far as that goes. Of course there’s no set in stone rules but lots of tendencies usually hold true. I think it’s an extremely valuable tool. Do any of y’all do this? Myself, I think in live speed thing’s usually look one way, but in slow motion it tells the truth. I had a video sent to me the other day and the person that owned the dogs thought it was real nice. But if you slow motion it, there’s a ton going on that the regular eye isn’t fast enough to see. I didn’t think it was as nice as they did before I slow motioned it, but afterwards I sure saw several problems. I’m not calling anyone’s dogs sorry at all. I’m just making the point that if they study this video it could save them some injuries, lost dogs, or even busted bays. I don’t know about y’all, but when it comes to my dogs, there are definitely favorites and the non favorites better not jeopardize them.

First thing that came to my mind is a dog could have a dominate side just like a human, that with the same genetics passed down could be exactly why, make the most since to me anyway. Ok to the question about getting a dog to be versatile on ears, there are several ways to do it but the best and easiest way to do it in my opinion is for a while have a dog already caught on the ear he wants and at first he may act a little confused but after he stops paying it any attention then usually they'll go either way. And just to say one of my preferences in a catch dog is one that will walk in to a bay but run out tear out like a bat out of hell. Sent from my E7110 using Tapatalk

Well no comments on my thoughts I guess. For sure they can have puppies off of a few different males if they are all breeding her in the same day or even the same 3 days. But if one dog breeds her and she takes and nothing else gets to her until 5 days or more after that then they will be off the first dog. Let me know what day she has them on and what you think.

Update on the pups, they are 4 months old and trail good, like to wind more seems like than other litters. Like to bay anything but I believe a cat or wood rat is their favorite right now lol. One has done come back snake bit but she's ok. The ones that's not at my house I haven't heard from in a bit. Last word I got from everybody was the same. Smartest pup I've ever owned so about March or April we will see. A old buddy that lives a ways from me bought one and I consider him one of the best dog men that I've known and he tells me that it's on the money, he has a good stock off dogs that hopefully will outcross to and be able to keep all my traits plus get the heat tolerance from his stock because they have got it. I shouldn't make such a big deal about the heat thing because it's only one of two out of a litter like that but I can't help it.

The reason I say this is because I wanted pups out of a male one time and the way it was I could only breed her to him one time. I bred her in day 9 then got worried about her taking so in day 14 I need her to the male I usually breed to. But it came out 63 days from the day 9 breeding.

Let me ask y'all this if he bred her to ranger on a certain day and say 6 days later his squirrel dog got to her, if she has them 63 days after he bred to ranger they all his if it goes 6 days past when he bred her to ranger they off the squirrel dog. About the only way you will get them off both males is if they got to her within 3 days of each other. That's my opinion from life not a scientific fact.

I did get it back and I still have to do some figuring because anything less than 6% I don't think would effect them much but I am still talking with wisdom DNA to figure out some stuff on that. There are two, maybe 3 breeds that could affect the heat tolerance but only one is 6% the other two or 3%. I'm waiting as well for my buddy to get the results back on my old males half brother to see what difference there was in their mother's side of the family shouldn't be much but my make came back with 6% bulldog terrier (pit bull) which are heat intolerant. Also wisdom has told me that some of these percentages will be higher in the some puppies I raise more than others which is weird to me in a way when I'm breeding to a gyp that has 0 bull dog in her but they still said it will soooo we shall see and I will update as I know more and when the half brother gets his results back.

T dog, I know this is really just scratching a little in what you talked about but I like a uncle niece cross, or Aunt, nephew cross best myself then take those puppies and go back with a great uncle/grandpa cross over the female out of the other litter. Then I can need back to a 3rd cousin is I want to or go with a outcross. I know 4 dogs that I would like to out cross to and hopefully I'll get to do it after this hunting season.
