1  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / Sewing Machine for cut gear on: April 07, 2020, 12:09:38 am
I have a Mitsubishi sewing machine that I bought years ago when I was still hunting. It’s a walking foot/walking needle. You can sew 1” thick Kevlar with it. I bought it when I was working on a my own gear, and have no use for it anymore. I bought it from sunny sewing in Dallas Tx, and paid 2,200. It has had maybee 15’ of thread ran thru it since I bought it.  I’ll take $1000. It is oil bath with its own table and servo motor. Was freshly overhauled when I bought it. You can sew 5/8 leather with it, but I newer Used it for that.

Message me for more details. Thanks.
2  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WIN TOURNAMENT ? on: March 03, 2014, 09:03:01 pm
I agree with the luck theory! Land has a hell of alot to do with it as well. You can take the best dog you ever had to a 20,000 acre spot in west texas, hunt all weekend and not catch a pig one. At the same time, take one dog to a mud hole on a 200 acre place and catch 5 in an hour. We are living proof of that. We caught 10 pigs off a wheat field during the hooligan hoggers hunt last month, 5 of wich we weighed in our stringer. Caught them all without the need of "jam up" strike dogs, nor top quality catch dogs. We had them, but could have done the same with poodles. We were just at the right spot at the right time. Big hogs were there and we got them. We were hunting aginst teams with THOUSANDS of acres and dogs that I would claim as the best iv hunted behind, and we beat them by hundred+ pounds.
3  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Installing a septic system for kennels? on: February 17, 2014, 07:56:25 pm
Be careful on this guys. Especially with admitting to what you have. Its aginst the law to install a system if your not licensed. Groundwater board will get that a**. I dont believe its an "in town only" permit either. It gos for everyone, everywhere. My dads business partner is licensed, ill check on it.
4  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Water soaked dead hog on: February 17, 2014, 07:40:22 pm
Pretty sure this thread is sparked from the hooligan hunt yesterday. Winners rolled up with thier 5 hogs in a tub in the back of there truck. Pretty sure they would have kicked all our buts if they would have left a hog laying in the bed of that truck lol them were some flat out big pigs. But, them hogs were completely saturated with water. They literally had water running out of every hole in their body while laying on the scales. But agin, they had this won by a long shot. 5 hogs weighed in at like 1014lbs gutted weight, second place was 840lbs. But I can totally see where this added to their over all weight. water is 8lb to the gallon, they spilled atleast a gallon out of the throat/chest of them hogs after they drug off the scales. Just the same as others were spilling ice out of the chest cavity after leaving the scales. Ribs are curved, leave the head lower while carying it to the scales, then lay it on its side on the scales, pick up the back feet first when leaving the scales and nobody would notice. If it would have been a closer race to 1st place I reckon there would have been more contraversy, There was plenty of water still comming off the hog when they were loading back up. But them boys sure enough had some big hogs. Good job duck creek!
5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: garmin maps ? on: February 03, 2014, 08:28:42 pm
Just thought id chime in. I just posted a similar topic last week and had limited help.I had to learn alot by trial and error. If your looking for a "google earth" style map, order the birdseye. Then go down to radio shack or walmart and by a micro sd card. I bought a 32 gig and you can get alot of country on it. Birdseye is a little confusing till you get the hang of it, but is surely the way to go. I got most of central texas in standard definition, and alot of the current places i hunt in high definition. And still have plenty of space. High def is awsome, i could see a tire laying in the bed of a parked ranch truck. High def takes forever to download. Topo maps are just lines on your map, I recommend going with the birdseye. Idk if the 220 is sd compatable but do know the 320 is, the card pops in right behind your battery. Hope this helps!
6  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: CB antenna for Garmin on: January 28, 2014, 07:14:09 pm
Matt i was just in radio shack today looking at antennas and hunting a sd card for the handheld. The hook-up they have to "get in to the garmin-out to the antenna" looks about like the riggin you got in your huntin bag lol. It was going to run me 60 bucks just for a small magnetic rig, be closer double for cb with mounts. Might check online for the garmin fitting, mounted directly to the antena cable. They were tryin to make me buy all these male to male couplings, pigtail fittings, it took like 5 pieces to put it all together. Lord knows ya need a SUPER antenna with sue burning up the woods lol
7  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Any way to download all of texas on birdseye?? on: January 28, 2014, 06:55:33 pm
I got the map card in today. Not impressed. Its a pain in the a**. Will someone please tell me the way they use theirs? Do you just download the spot your hunting the day before you go, and hope its done downloading by the next day? lol I bought a 32 gig micro card in hoping i could transfer all of texas to that, then pop it in the gps. I would be happy with just west texas, anybody ever used a sd card???. Any info appreciated!!!

17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / ATTN: Old Timers-Head light question on: December 12, 2013, 09:59:15 pm
When I was growing up hunting behind my dad, he always carried an older style 6 volt halogen headlight. This headlight had a round head with metal back, simple two prong bulb, had a detachable red lens, and a post style toggle switch on the side. It had a single red white and blue elastic headband, and a paired 18 guage cord running off it with alligator clips on the end. I was unfortunate enough to be the one driving when the tackle box full of his vintage gear slid out of the back of the pickup one night when were crossin a creek and got bogged down in the mud. I have yet to live down running over a 30 year old heirloom. Im wanting to find some more of these lights, and give him back a piece of his past for Christmas. Does anyone know what light im talking about? Anybody have any? If so can you help me out with any info, manufacturer, model?? I have searched high and low and apparently they just all dissapered! It had to be a common light, because dad had a pile of parts for them, or so I thought.  Thanks in advance!
