I have a 4 1/2 inch blade, my dad uses a bayonet he's been using one ever since I can remember he lost his first one in the Sam national forest and my brother got him another one for his birthday a few years back, one of my brothers has a really nice winchester blade it looks 10 inches and we have buck knives everywhere! They get lost and you can find at least two in the truck lol as far as where to stick we do it a little bit above the armpit area.
