just keep an eye on craigslist. get a 100% pure bred pit. let it get fired up watching other dogs bark at a pig, maybe let it watch another dog catch the ear, then cut him loose. be sure to tie the hogs back legs to a tree so the dog will always be taking the hog head on. also, dont let him see a dog catch it anywhere but the ear. then let him catch the hog in a big pen un hobbled, then lead him into a bay until he sees the hog. and BOOM! you have a catch dog.... something to start with anyways. use that dog for a while then you can better decide what you want in a cd. just start with the basics, curs and pits, you're not going to get super dogs when you first start.
