I don't know about the jaw being stronger after it heals. My vet said don't hunt the dog as the chances are good she will re-break her jaw and if she does, he can't fix it again.

I also know a guy that had a dog get a broken jaw, he had it fixed, laid her up for a year for it to heal and she re-broke her jaw on her second hunt after having a year off.

So I am not going to hunt mine. I may want a litter out of her so she can just hang around the house for now.....
