  Well sir, many of the olympic female athletes have few or no cycles. It seems that they are carrying no fat and exercising heavily and it shuts down the reproductive hormones the same as if they were starving. I don't have any proof that it would happen with dogs but it makes sence to me that it could have the same effect if you are keeping the bitch lean and working her hard. Just another possibility to ponder and no real answer.      John

I was told by a grey breeder that alot of their gyps don't come in heat while in heavy training and racing.

My gyp only comes in every 12 to 14 months and she had a heat stroke 2 years ago and she is 6 this year and had a litter of pup 1 1/2 ago, which I thought my make her normal but no still 12 to 14 months apart.
