Swamp dog vests are the old razorback vests. I have some that are 7 to 8 years old. Just sent one to Carla Hilburn (the old hoot gibsons) to have a check for holes and sew up a rip in the outer layer. She was very impressed with it. Said its one of the toughest vests she has seen. I also like southern cross, but I have to be real careful with the leg holes on that one, on some of my dogs they rub a little. I have not tried the ugly dog vests yet so can't respond there. Larry Parish does a great job on his but they seem to work best on my leaner dogs. Bottom line to me is use the vest that fits your dog the best. If it doesn't fit right it will NOT protect your dog. If you are not sure of how it should fit talk to a representative for that vest, I won't give my business to anyone that won't help me with questions. If you have a problem with a product I think you should tell them, that way they know that there might be an issue. Likewise if you really like something about your vest you should let them know. The more information they have the better the product they build.
