i believe first to figure it out you need to know its genetics on both sides some dogs start early some take some time and even then you really won't know i believe a dog is in training til least 2 yrs old even then they can throw you for a loop i have a 7 1/2 yr old dog that always bays loose til lately Idk if about anyone else but to know 100 % is almost impossible JMO
