Y'all are correct as far as now days made trailers. 10 years ago there was the lightest weight trailers with angle iron rails and 2,000 pound axles with 5 lug wheels. At that time you could rarely find a pipe rail one with less than 2,500 pound axles with at least 6 lug wheels, more often than not they had 8 lug 16 inch wheels. The pipe was also very heavy walled and you could use chains and boomers for a skid steer, ditch or fron end loader and never bend them. The junk they build now (pipe rails) is thin and of course the trailers are built cheaper as well. In high school (1996 graduate) you could rarely beg, borrow or steal a 16 foot trailer to move over the weekend. Now, everyone has one and they are built so light and crappy, due to mass production and demand. I'd still be sure and crawl under it and check out the structural integrity and make sure it ain't one of the "mass fabbed" light piece of junks that are out there.
