For dogs over 6 months 1/10 of a cc for every 20 lbs every month for the prevention of heartworms. After puppies are weaned 1/10 of a cc per 30lbs until they reach 6 months. So says my vet. Lots of old timers around here give all their dogs 1 cc per month and have for years. I think this helps with other ailments and skin conditions, but is not necessary for the prevention of heartworms. The cattle liquid works well for me because you can get a more accurate dosage.
