I'm in Hopkins county and I am just getting started dog hunting but I have gun hunted here and gone with other peoples dogs for a long time. In my experience the hogs around me dont run. I've bayed within 100 yd. of jumping them and with pups to boot. I have been on some that ran a little but never miles. Never been on one that just wouldn't shut down. On the other hand I've heard stories of some that have but I don't think they're known for it. Size wise there are some big pigs, I shot a sow during deer season that weighed 300+. Most that I see and bay are 150 to 250 with a few real big ones here and there. That said, I havent hunted in every part of the county and it's a good sized county. Hit me up when you're going to be here, we might be able to hit a few other places that me and my buddies hunt.
