gday mate, my usual trick is to get what you would call a shoat and put some hobbles on it which allow it to get up and move about but not take off altogether. you will be surprised what your dog will do for you and it gets away from that pen enviroment. i start out like this then allow it to get out of site as your dogs progress and build from there. im new to bay dogs but this is working for me. if you guys can give me any tips that would be good too.
