i use the same tactics as slick mentioned and it usuaally does work for me. i use about a hundred pound sow with a little bit of fight in it. that way it has the ability to get the dogs attention. when i hobble them i have a very large pasture that i can cut them loose in but usually dont need much space for a hobbled hog. when they get fairly well with that hobbled pig i cut it loose and graudually let the pig get farther and farther each time they do good. alot of the time starting out a pup like that i will use one of my older dogs to help find it to let the pups get an understanding of it. The other dogs that u mentioned barked occasionally dont seem like they show alot of interest. there are several ways to fix that but the way i use most may be the wrong way for some but seems to work for me. as long as the pup is 8 or 9 months or older i will put the in a cattle trailer or a small pen with a 100# or less pig with alot of fight. small pen to get the dog closer. i will let them get their tail busted a time or three to make them mad usually when i dothis i am in the pen WITH the dogs so i can help the pup cause you dont wanna let em get whipped enough to tramatize them. but i have found most of the pups i have tried this on usually take to it pretty quick when they got mad. the ones that didnt most got culled later on. i hope this helps some It works for me but most likely not everyone good luck with those pups
